Dear TRAC-delegate, This document contains important information for your attendance at TRAC. Please read it carefully. VENUE All sessions and the keynote lecture will be held in the Faculty of Law of the University of Amsterdam. The building is situated at the Oudemanhuispoort (which is also the name of the building). Please see the enclosed map for details. The venue is within walking distance of Amsterdam Central Station. Should you wish to use public transport, you can take tram 4, 9, 16, 24 and 25 and exit at Spui (see enclosed public transport map). The route from Spui to the venue will be signposted by us. The reception and drinks on Friday, 4 th of April, will take place at the Amsterdam Archaeological Centre (AAC) of the University of Amsterdam. The centre is almost next door to the Oudemanhuispoort and situated at the Turfdraagsterspad. It will be signposted as well. Please see the enclosed map for details. REGISTRATION The registration desk is situated in the main hall of the Oudemanhuispoort (see above). Upon registering you will receive your conference pack with all details of the programme and a booklet containing abstracts. Opening hours: Friday, April 4 th : 17.30h-19.30h (Keynote-lecture starts at 18.45h) Saturday, April 5 th : 09.00h-12.30h (Sessions start at 09.45h) Sunday, April 6 th : 08.30h-12.30h (Sessions start at 09.00h) PAYMENT For those of you who sent a cheque as deposit, you are asked to pay cash in EURO s upon registering. After you have made your payment, your cheque will be returned to you immediately. Please pay in exact money. LUGGAGE On Saturday and Sunday there will be a luggage deposit at the porter s lodge at the Oudemanhuispoort. EMERGENCIES The TRAC 2008 Organising Committee can be reached by phone at 0031-6-17012471 from Friday, April 4 th 10.00h onwards until Monday, April 7 th, 18.00h. Please use this number only for very urgent matters. Especially speakers and session-organisers who are delayed or unable to attend due to acute circumstances are requested to call the Organising Committee at this number. ORGANISATION AND INFORMATION An information desk will be staffed in the main hall of the Oudemanhuispoort throughout the conference. Members of the Organising Committee can be recognised by their red shirts with the logo of TRAC on it.

ALLARD PIERSON MUSEUM The Allard Pierson Museum is the archaeological museum of the University of Amsterdam, specialising in Mediterranean Archaeology. It is situated at Oude Turfmarkt (almost next door to the archaeological centre). TRAC delegates can visit the museum free of charge on Friday Afternoon, Saturday and Sunday upon showing their conference badge. The museum also offers delegates the possibility to study objects in its collection where this is relevant for their own research. If you wish to use this opportunity, please send an email to m.j.driessen@uva.nl (Mark Driessen), stating which objects in the collection you would like to study and to what end. The museum curator will then contact you to arrange further details. PARTY On Saturday evening, April 5 th, the Amsterdam Archaeological Student s Associations Trilithon and Underground will host a party for all TRAC delegates. This is an excellent opportunity for meeting socially. The party will be held at Café de Heffer (www.heffer.nl), located right in the city centre at Oudebrugsteeg 7 (see map below), from 20.00h onwards. Entrance is free upon showing your conference badge, drinks are to be bought at your own expenses. EXCURSION If you subscribed for the excursion to Xanten and Nijmegen on Monday, April 7 th, please assemble in front of the Allard Pierson Museum (Oude Turfmarkt) at 07.45h (!!). The coach will leave at 08.00h promptly and will not wait for latecomers. The scheduled return time in Amsterdam is 17.30h (with a detour to Schiphol Airport for delegates leaving that same evening).
