did you know you can switch from a gas fire to an efficient Stanley stove? Many Stanley customers have made the switch from a gas fire to a solid fuel stove they tell us they cannot believe the warmth, comfort and natural heat from a Stanley stove. To start the conversion you need to have either a chimney or an external wall to install your stove. It brings real warmth and energy to the room. It s difficult to heat this room as it has a double height ceiling but it now feels cosy. We would definitely recommend it. The Cara Insert suits the traditional style of our living room and fireplace. Open fires are wasteful of energy and impact negatively on the energy rating. As our home was a new build we were advised that open fires were a no-no. It was recommended by a friend but to be honest I really wanted a stove. Allied Ironfounders were the leading foundry company of the day. It owned sites in Larbert, Scotland, Coalbrookdale and Telford, England, together with the Waterford site.
