POCKLINGTON SCHOOL FOUNDATION External or Specialist Coaches Rugby Union Richard Wareham Richard has enjoyed a prestigious rugby career. He represented England at 16s, 18s, 21s and students whilst also playing for Leicester Tigers, Mosely, Wakefield and Rotherham. As a coach he was one of the first teachers to become a Level 4 coach and has worked with England U16s as head coach whilst also assisting the U18s. He has worked with England women North U16 and U18 squads and both male and female senior squads. Rob Brierley A former director of sport at Pocklington, Rob is now Performance Manager at Scotland Rugby Union. He previously worked as a national trainer and coach educator with England Rugby and is a Level 4 coach mentor. John Holtby John played premiership rugby for Leicester Tigers and Leeds and also represented Rotherham Titans in the Championship. He played Heineken Cup rugby whilst at the Tigers. 1

Rugby Union Carter Croft After having playing spells at Blackheath and London Irish, Carter moved to Australia to work with Queensland University. He has also spent time in New Zealand at the Hurricanes and with the USA National team Pro 2 France with Oyonnax. Jonny Wheeler Jonny comes from a strong Rugby League background having represented Gloucestershire South West Students. He also has experience at international level for Great Britain Pioneers. He is currently undertaking his Level 3 coaching qualification and is a lead coach in Yorkshire Carnegie s ERDPP programme. Henry Perham At school Henry represented Prince Henry s Grammar School 1st XV and went on to play for Myerscough College (Sale) AASE and achieve representative honours for North of England Colleges. He is a Level 2 coach and works at both Prep and Pocklington School. 2

Netball Tamsin Moala Tamsin is currently playing netball for the Northumbria Superleague Netball team, having previously played for New Zealand Schools, Waikato Beko Netball League team. She has also been a NZ Talent Accelerant Squad Applicant. Georgia Lees Georgia currently plays for Surrey Storm who she has helped to three grand finals. Before her time at the Storm she was part of the England pathway and broke into the U19 side before winning the European Championship in 2012. Hockey Sam Brown Sam started his performance coaching career in the Southern Region of New Zealand for three years, working across the U18, U21 and National League teams. More recently he has worked with the U21 Midlands Women as a Technical Analyst, NHL Midlands Men as an Assistant Coach, U21 Midlands Woman as an Assistant Coach and U18 Midlands Women as Head Coach. He is currently Head coach at Wakefield Hockey Club. 3

Hockey. Lucy Hornby Lucy has joined Pocklington School with a wealth of hockey experience. As a player she captained Pocklington School 1st team before going on to play for Leeds Met 1st team at university and gain representative honours for Humberside and North of England. She has coached at both Ampleforth and Stamford where she was Head of Hockey. Lucy was also Head of Netball at Ampleforth and plays club Tennis at Sledmere. Keith Taylor Keith is a former county and international coach at both junior and senior level. David Byas David is a former senior Yorkshire player who also represented England U21s in the European Cup in Portugal. He is currently a Level 2 coach and is the lead coach for Humber hockey U13/U14 boys. Anthony Bull Anthony is currently City of York men s 1 st team captain and is a hockey coach in the Prep School. Fiona Tuplin Fiona currently coaches at Driffield Hockey Club and Humberside girls U14 team. She is a Level 2 coach. Charlie Lambert Charlie represented the 1st XV when he attended Pocklington School and he now works across the School s games afternoons, having led the u14s to an undefeated season in 2017. Charlie is a Level 2 coach and referee. 4

Cricket David Byas David is a Level 4 elite ECB coach and previously enjoyed professional cricket with Yorkshire and Lancashire. He was captain when Yorkshire won their first county championship for 33 years in 2001 and it was also the club where he became Director of Cricket in 2004. David was involved as an ECB Umpire coach which consisted of him working, coaching and mentoring a number of first-class umpires, in both the professional game and at County second team level. Now Director of Sport at Pocklington School, he also runs his own academy. Henry Perham Henry is a Level 2 coach and currently coaches Yorkshire CCC U15 girls team. He also still plays for Knaresborough CC and has represented the 1st XI there. Charlie Lambert As a player Charlie represented East Yorkshire U12-U15, captaining the side at U15 level. He then went on to play for Yorkshire CC Development U15s and later captain both Pocklington CC and Pocklington School. Now he is a Level 2 coach and has coached East Yorkshire U12s as well as players at DB Academy and Ryan Sidebottom Academy. 5

Tennis Matt Ward Having previously worked for the LTA around Yorkshire and Head Coach at Pocklington Tennis Club, Matt now leads our senior tennis at Pocklington School. A Level 4 coach, he also runs his own coaching business. Strength and Conditioning Jonny Wheeler Jonny is currently our Head of Athletic Development and is studying for a Masters in Talent Development at Leeds Beckett University. Before starting this role, Jonny worked in professional rugby with Leicester Tigers, Bath Rugby and Stade Rouennais. He has also worked with North England Women U15 and U18 squads as well as the national U20 squad. He has spent time with Bath University Rugby League and Castleford Tigers. 6
