PAFURI WALKING TRAIL April October 2019 3-night authentic walking trail Kruger National Park!
What to Expect Pafuri is unrivalled walking country in the northern reaches of Kruger National Park. Our walking trails, available from April to October, are renowned for offering true bush lovers an opportunity to experience one of Kruger s most remote corners on foot. Led by experienced field guides, you will explore a place that is as vast as it is varied and wild. The Pafuri Walking Trail offers you a chance to focus on the little things, and you will also experience the rush of adrenaline when you happen upon members of the Big Five. Home base is a seasonal bush camp near the banks of the Luvuvhu River in a setting that creates unforgettable experiences in a unique natural area. The Pafuri region has the highest biodiversity of the Kruger National Park with staggering scenery and landscapes including the well known Lanner Gorge, Crook s Corner, the fever tree forest, mountains and open floodplains. Birders will find themselves in paradise spotting species occurring only in Pafuri, among some 350 species in total. There will be short game drives to reach different parts of the concession, and walks that will last anywhere between 2.5 and 4 hours, ranging between 4 and 10 km each. The pace of the trail will take into account the fitness level of the group as a whole.
Rustic, eco-friendly, unfenced and off-the-grid trails camp in the heart of the bush. There is no electricity or running water at the Pafuri Walking Trails Camp. Non-intrusive solar lights, hurricane lamps, and the glow of the fire will provide light at night. Each morning the guides will fill the canvas basins outside your tent with warm water for a gentle refreshment before departing, and after each activity there is the opportunity to shower under a hot bucket shower. Of course, this wilderness experience is intended to be enjoyed without mobile phones or internet connection, so there is no access to Wi-Fi.
