The Pickering College Holiday Home Tour has become an integral part of York Region holiday festivities for thirteen years. Each year the committee endeavors to bring the tour to a new community with a view to featuring local businesses in the area, and to showcasing special features such as the historic Sharon Temple in 2017. Not only does the Holiday Home Tour help kick off the holiday season for over a 1,000 guests each year, but it provides financial support to enhance programs and services provided by a local charity. This self-directed tour has become a Signature Event at Pickering College, and features homes decorated in holiday splendour each with it s own unique theme, chosen in collaboration by a team of York Region s finest designers, decorators & florists. The tour has grown substantially over the thirteen years and now welcomes guests from Barrie, the Greater Toronto area, Kingston, and York Region, to as far away as London, ON. This unique fundraiser has attracted over 13,000 guests since its inception in 2005, and has donated a portion of the proceeds to a local charity each year.

Event Exposure The Holiday Home Tour garners excellent press coverage through local media channels such as The Newmarket Era, Aurora Banner, Stouffville Sun-Tribune, and SNAPd, as well as York Life and Our Homes magazines. The Holiday Home Tour has also been featured in Being Well Magazine, Chloe Magazine, and Canadian House & Home. Holiday Home Tour ads are broadcast on 88.5 The Jewel and 102.7 CHOP FM with television event promotion on Rogers TV and City line. Significant promotion is provided leading up to the tour and at the event itself; including company event promotions, face-to-face marketing, event signage, product displays and print materials. Significant promotion is also provided through the Pickering College website, and the community newsletter - PC Connects - distributed biweekly to over 3,000 Pickering College constituents.
