ONLINE WORK According to the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) statistics, Europe s economy is facing a shortage of young people with skills in Information and Communication Technology. Demand for labor on online work platforms results in over 200,000 jobs per week. In the digital era, Online Work (or Online Outsourcing) has become an alternative solution to traditional jobs. Global demand for online tasks is stably rising. Some of the skills that face the highest demand from online work platforms include: Low Comlexity (e.g. sign up on websites; search = click; watch videos; bookmark webpages) Medium Complexity (e.g. design & multimedia; translation and languages; data entry) High Complexity (e.g. customer service; web & software development; sales & marketing) The most popular global platforms for online work are:

I encountered many challenges in my journey at WoW, but with the team s support I managed to Liridonë Demaj I am now working on various online WoW 2 platforms, and I have so far made 35 online contracts. So many opportunities have been opened to me ever since I graduated from WoW. Together with some other women, we have co-founded our own business were we practice the skills we ve learned in the program. The best thing that I ve learned from WoW, besides new skills, is that it s OK if you fail, as long as you don t give up trying.
TRAININGS IN WoW The WoW Program typically lasts for six months, during which the trainees learn the most demanded skills in the global digital economy market Technical skills, in which trainees have learnt so far one of the market demands): Front End Web Development Graphic Design Social Media Marketing contracts online leveraging global online work platforms: How to acquire communication skills How to write a motivation letter How to prepare for an interview with a potential client the digital world During the WoW Program, the trainees in their not so easy yet an exciting journey are supported (24/7) by mentors who are experienced in technical skills, and also by career advisors.
WoW 1 & 2 PROJECT PHASES With the support of the World Bank, two projects have been implemented to date: WoW 1 and 2, during February-December 2016 and January 2017. Phase 1 was implemented in two municipalities: Gjakova and Lipjan, and Phase 2 was implemented in the municipality of Prishtina, including Obiliq and Fushe Kosove. 166 women graduated in total. WoW 3 Current developments and future plans: With the support of USAID - Empower Private Sector, Phase 3 of the WoW project has been initiated in the municipality of Prishtina and Gjilan, in which 160 women (80+80) will be trained on technical and soft skills for online work. WoW 3 training will be carried out during April-September 2017. WoW 4 With the support of the Swiss-EYE project by Helvetas Swiss Intercooperation, WoW will start to be implemented in the municipality of Podujeva and North and South Mitrovica, during 2017.
