2 EIRC 1st January 2017

My Dear Professional colleagues, At the outset, I would like to convey my greetings and better than the best wishes of this new year. The very word new implies a lot to everyone especially for professionals like we the Chartered Accountants who are extremely keen to reckon and initiate, try and invent and work on newer concepts and ideas. In line with this, many a change to the old have taken place in our profession with so many dynamism is being seen. I am happy to note that the changes are actually taking a lead role and should be ideally reposed in shaping our profession which are being instrumental in taking our country at a novel high. The robust steps that have taken place in Indian Financial Sphere are the introduction of GST and the latest decision of demonetization process to bring about desired dreamt reforms by our Hon ble Prime Minister Shri Narendrda Modi. These two are going to play the pivot in structuring the Indian Economy, which in the long run, are showing the strength of taking our country at the helm of global financial firmament. I spared no stone unturned to discuss on these issues organizing seminars on these two and I express my sincere gratitude that you all responded by showing your eagerness joining and attending seminars. I also wish everybody sincerest of my thankfulness to make this 41st Regional Conference a grand success. I have put in my best efforts in taking initiatives to make it more digitized while my initiatives towards building up a digital library is taking turn to reality. But at the same time we should remind ourselves that global climactic change has been a grave concern and threat to our dear loving planet. Myriad plants and animals are being affected and harmed by it. We are inviting unpredictably dangerous diseases. Hence nature should be taken care of. We should conceive and accordingly, steps should be initiated and the same be propagated in a manner so that an awareness gets permeated from a great to greater lot. I also invite suggestions from your end in this regard to present a more fruitful and lasting solution to this global environmental crisis. Finally I would like to say my thankfulness to all of you coming up with all your gestures to make almost all of my initiatives successful. Signing off wishing that this every sunrise of this new year goes on widening the horizon of your success. CA Anirban Datta Chairman, EIRC of ICAI EIRC 1st January 2017 3

EICASA My Dear Student Friends, Thought without action, is meaningless.as Emily P. Bissell rightly said Great thoughts speak only to the thoughtful mind, but great actions speak to all Mankind. Many a people think deeply, afford to lavishly discuss on them, generously wasting invaluable series of seconds but when it actually comes to working they often entangle themselves into diplomacy, create an escape route and disappear. They are the apparent winners and who toil and risk and As Alexender the great said, Leave an everlasting fame. Yes! This time our Team EICASA went beyond discussion and actually made this year happening with conceiving, initiating and implementing many an activity by gleefully shouldering responsibility, labouring hard with an undaunted spirit the spirit of youthfulness! They made it to gather a spilling over audience in almost all the seminars organised. They successfully organized Educational Tours to West Bengal State Legislative Assembly, Netaji Subhas Dock and Custom Clearing Station etc. Industrial Visit to Durgapur Birla Cement Plant Corporation was also turned into a reality. To more in store as surprise, after releasing all their psychological and physical energy in all these, they celebrated their never-ending resource of youthful valour by way of organizing an Indoor & outdoor Sports Meet on 25th December. EICASA We bid good bye to the year 2016 by witnessing their resourcefulness in the form of Student Festival a youthful extravaganza. The EICASA team is staggeringly engrossed in thought followed by consistent activity which keeps them safe and strict on their way to success. My heartiest congratulations to all the team members. Team EICASA refrains from leisure for they know that leisure is nothing but to shift from one initiative to another. So my dear students! Please follow the website, keep a close watch on the vibes of your mobile phone and never let any scope to leave and enjoy and enrich and express yourselves by participating in various events in future. So my dear students! Keep your inner fire flaming. Do not be away from your ambition. Never stop trying. Always learn from your stumbling. Let this New Year be the newest in terms of your feeling and viewing, perceiving and implementing, encouraging and motivating. Winding up for this issue wishing this new year with the resolution as felt by Kurt Hahn, There is more in us than we know. If we can be made to see it, perhaps, for the rest of our lives, we will be unwilling to settle for less. Wish you all a very Happy & a Prosperous New Year.
