Retailer Spotlight: Parma Tavern, Parma Take a trip to the Parma Tavern, located in the northeastern Ohio suburb of Parma, and you ll see it s hopping. You can find local businesses treating employees to an evening out, a steady stream of regular customers and other groups enjoying food and fun at the tavern. It s right in the heart of Parma, says Lottery sales representative Chuck Parise. It s a blue collar town. People can t get enough of the Lottery. Notably, the Parma Tavern is one of Ohio s original Keno retailers and is one of Ohio s top Keno retailers. Chuck and one of the owners, John Ryerson, took a few minutes to share more about the business. What effect has Keno had on the Parma Tavern? It s been great for business. It gives customers something to do and it s free entertainment (for the tavern), says John. Money from selling Lottery games been used toward a few capital improvements too. It s been mutually beneficial, he says. Use of Lottery vending The Parma Tavern has a ticket vending machine selling both draw and instant games, along with MP and Touch & Win terminals where customers can play Keno, draw games and interactive Touch & Win games. Most sales come through vending. Outside of Keno, instant games and EZPLAY Games are its most popular. Kenotes! Fall/Winter 2018

Taking advantage of special promotion The Parma Tavern hosted a Lucky One party in March for the kickoff of The Lucky One monitor game. Chuck, who s served as the business Lottery sales representative for the past year, has organized Keno promotions specifically for the Parma Tavern. How are Lottery sales? Sales have grown more than 80% since 2014. They do a wonderful job and make Lottery a priority, says Chuck. Parma Tavern Employees Melissa, Katie and Alea with Ron (center), one of their favorite customers. 7

Taking Care of Business: Helping customers with credit when vending goes offline If weather or technical issues pull your Ohio Lottery vending machines off line, you may have customers needing help. Take these steps to help customers with credit left in vending: For MP-style vending (MP, Touch & Win or MPNG vending) 1. Turn to the Admin screen. 2. Press the Admin button and sign in. 5. At the Server Accounting screen press Pay Voucher (Clear Cr). 3. At the Main Menu screen, press Accounting. 6. At the next screen, press the clear credits button. You will be asked to confirm your choice. 4. Press Sever Accounting. Note: you can only get to this last screen if the intranet connection on your machine is down. Once you complete these steps, an offline pay voucher will print. Customers can redeem their voucher once the system comes back online or can take the voucher to another retailer for processing. Kenotes! Fall/Winter 2018
