March use to be the beginning of our calendar year. The Gregorian calendar was adopted in 1752. It is only since then that the year began on 1 st January. April Birthdays: Shirley Zummo April 6 Steve Griffin April 14 Chuck Turo April 14 Ken Cole April 17 Carol Raabe April 19 Happy Anniversary to: Rich & Sharon Vander Bok 4/20/63 Cares & Concerns Please keep the following in your thoughts and prayers: Carol recovering from lung surgery Beverly Sims recovering from stroke Ken & Brandy Cole health issues Dick Weis Shoulder surgery Men s Beanbag Baseball team pulls out a ninth inning win after trailing the women. The March campout at Blueberry Hill RV Resort was a little different but still a lot of fun! The hosts adapted to the crowded kitchen and the weather was not too hot and not too cold- with just a few rain drops here and there! RVs started arriving on Thursday. By Friday afternoon activities were in full swing with 15 member rigs, 1 guest rigs and 5 drive-ins. It was good to see Carol Griffin back and Dick Weis is making good progress with his shoulder therapy. Later, some couples went to the Beef O Brady s Restaurant in Bushnell for dinner while others stayed and enjoyed a lazy and relaxing evening s supper and later games. Saturday morning the Blueberry people cooked breakfast. The meeting followed at 10:00. We welcome guest Dale and Norma Hassman and Ted & Colleen Litz, friends of the Hime s. After lunch we played beanbag baseball and the men were just able to defeat the ladies with a 9th inning Bill Mann homerun!! Then we played Holey Board and Ladder ball. Dinner featured delicious pork roast, and lots of side dishes to go with it. And Sharon treated us to a Lions and Lamb game after dinner. Games followed in the club house. Sunday morning our hosts fixed us a delicious SOS breakfast. Many thanks to MacLarty, Sims, Hime for planning and hosting such a great weekend!
