Doubletree by Hilton Cambridge Hotel Accessibility Pack Thank you for considering the DoubleTree by Hilton Cambridge. We are pleased to give you some information about our hotel that you may find useful when planning your visit. Arriving at the hotel The hotel car park entrance is on Granta Place off Mill Lane. There are 180 parking spaces, of which four are for disabled drivers. All four spaces are directly in front of you as you enter the car park security barrier system. Parking is chargeable at 18.50 per night. There is a drop-off point outside the main entrance, which is covered by a canopy and does not have any steps. The hotel has 2 entrances. The main entrance of the hotel is at the front of the building and the car park entrance is located at the rear. There are no steps at either the front or back entrances. The front entrance provides the most convenient route to all hotel facilities. The main and rear entrances both have a pair of sliding automatic doors. If you need help with luggage or equipment, or any guidance, our Concierge Team is on duty 24 hours a day. Should you require assistance please ask at our reception desk or alternative directly to our Concierge Team who will be more than happy to help. The concierge desk can be accessed via the external concierge door to the left of the main entrance or to the left of the main reception desk in the lobby. 1 V1 2013

Welcome There are no steps into the hotel lobby. The lobby is a large rectangle area all on the same level. The surface is hard wood flooring throughout. There are a number of chairs and a low level coffee table to the right as you enter the sliding doors. When entering the lobby, the front desk is on the left hand side. A large staircase is directly in front of you with 2 sets of steps either side of the staircase leading to the Riverside Brasserie and the Twist Bar and Lounge. The Riverside Brasserie and Twist Bar and Lounge can be assessed down 3 steps or via an accessible lift. The accessible lift is located to the right of the steps on the right hand side of the main reception desk. Reception The front desk is to on the left as you enter from the main entrance. The surface is hard wood flooring throughout. The desk is located approximately 8 metres from the main doors. The main reception desk is 110cm high. However, if you need to sit down, ask beforehand or when you arrive. A member of staff will help with your registration details. We can provide a large-print copy of the registration card if required. An induction loop is located to rear of the reception desk.

Reception Continued A portable induction hearing loop is also available. When you check in, our staff will tell you about our evacuation policy. Should you require assistance with your luggage our concierge desk is located to the left hand side of reception. The Concierge desk can also be accessed via an external lever handled single door to the left of the main entrance. If you want to order a newspaper, please contact the reception team. We will delivery your newspaper to your room. You can order a wake-up call through the reception team. Reception can also supply you with a vibrating alarm clock should you so wish. Toilet facilities There are two sets of public toilets in the hotel. One of these has a specific accessible toilet. One set is located opposite the entrance to the Riverside Brasserie the accessible toilet is approximately 10 metres down the corridor to the right of these toilets. The accessible toilet has a toilet with grab rails, low level sink and emergency pull cord. The second set is located towards the back of the building and can be found to the right of the car park entrance doors.

Getting Around the Hotel The hotel has 122 bedrooms split over 4 floors, including the Penthouse floor. The accessible lift for access to the ground floor bedrooms, LivingWell Health Club, Twist Bar and Lounge and Riverside Brasserie is located to the right of the steps on the right hand side of the main reception desk. The main lift to other floors is located to the right hand side of the main reception. This lift has tactile signage. A second lift is located to the rear of the building. All lifts are fully carpeted. Signage throughout the hotel is tactile including directional signage and bedroom numbers. Twist Bar and Lounge The Twist Bar and Lounge is located off the main lobby with steps either side of the central staircase. There are 3 steps leading down to the Twist Bar and Lounge. There is an accessible lift to the right of the left steps ramp on the left-hand side. The Bar and Lounge is open plan. The Twist Bar and Lounge is open until 11pm. (For residents it is open 24 hours). Please take a seat and a member of our staff will take your order at your table. We can provide large print menus if required or alternatively a member of staff will be happy to read these for you.

Riverside Brasserie The Riverside Brasserie is located off the main lobby with steps either side of the central staircase. There are 3 steps leading down to the Riverside Brasserie. Access is via 2 sets of double doors. The tables are 75 cm high and the chairs are 45 cm high. The entrance to the Brasserie is hard wood flooring with a large square carpeted panel with the welcome desk to the centre. The flooring is a hard wood surface with carpeting areas leaving the fire exit doors leaving to the external ground. We can provide menus in large print if you need. Opening times Breakfast Lunch Dinner 6.30am to 10am, Monday to Friday 7am to 11am Saturday/Sunday & bank holidays 12.30pm to 2.30pm, Monday to Friday 1pm 3pm Saturday & Sunday (Inc Bank Holidays) 6.45pm to 10pm Monday to Sunday Business Services The business centre is open 24 hours a day to residents and can be accessed via your bedroom key card. Reception will be able to arrange for any photocopying services. There are two PC s with internet access available. The hotel lobby, lounge and bedrooms are linked to Swisscom. You can buy air time from reception. The Swisscom is available either via wired or wireless access.

LivingWell health club The hotel has a LivingWell health club on the right-hand side on the ground floor. This can be accessed by following the ground floor corridor to the end past the entrance to the car park. Entrance from the hotel bedroom corridor can be gained by use of your bedroom keycard. The flooring is carpet throughout with tiling to the changing rooms. The club can also be accessed from the car park with door to the left of the rear entrance. Opening Times 6.30am - 10pm Weekdays 7.30am 9pm Weekends Children s Hours 9am 6pm Sunday-Thursday 9am 7pm Friday Saturday Fitness instructors are available to offer help and advice at all times. There are accessible changing rooms and a family changing room on the left hand side of the club reception desk. The changing room has a wet-room-type shower, toilet with grab rails, toilet and emergency pull cord. The gym has three treadmills, two exercise bikes, two crosstrainers, and various resistance equipment. LivingWell Health Club also has a Spa, Sauna and Steam room located just off the poolside. You can get towels from the health club reception.

Bedrooms We have five accessible double rooms with bathtubs. Accessible rooms are on the ground, first and second floor. All accessible rooms have: o grab rails around the toilet; o grab rails around the bathtub; o an emergency pull cord in the bathroom and next to the bed; o low-level basin; and o a bedside control panel for light switches We can install a vibrating pillow alarm, flashing light alarm to your room if you so wish. All accessible rooms have locking connecting doors with a standard double next door. Your room will have a chair at the desk, two comfy chairs and a coffee table. If you need more space in your room, we can remove any of these items. Please contact either reservation s before your stay, or reception once you have arrived at the hotel, to arrange for furniture to be moved.

In the Event of Emergencies: The Hotel operates a system of PEEPs (Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans). On check-in to the Hotel, you will be offered the opportunity to discuss and outline any special requirements or assistance you may need should an evacuation of the Hotel be necessary as a result of a fire or other emergency. You will be given a copy of this Emergency Evacuation Plan and we will keep a copy for our Hotel Fire Team to refer to in case of an evacuation taking place during your stay. The Plan will specify which of our Team Members will be designated to assist you, should you require this. Should you have any concerns regarding emergency evacuations, please speak to the Duty Manager. We test the emergency alarms on Monday at 11.00am. The siren will sound for no more than one minute. Bedroom Specifications Rooms 31, 116, 143, 216, 244 / Double non-smoking rooms Accessible rooms Access Room 31 is located on the ground floor. This bedroom corridor is located to the right hand side of the main reception desk. 3 steps lead to this corridor or alternatively there is an accessible lift to the right of these steps. Rooms 116 and 143 are located on the first floor. Rooms 216, 244 are located on the second floor. Bedrooms located on the first and second floor can be accessed via the main hotel lift which is to the right hand side of the main reception desk. Signage/controls in the lift to the front of the building are all tactile. Conference facilities We have 4 meeting and banqueting rooms. All meeting rooms are on the ground floor, which is via the 3 steps from the main reception area or via the accessible lift to the right of the steps. The meeting rooms are all carpeted. Double door access is available to all rooms. You can arrange to hire audio-visual equipment before your event. Please let the conference and event agent know when you make your booking. All meeting rooms have wireless Swisscom access. You can find all room measurements, floor plans and facilities in one of our meetings and conference packs.
