UPGROUND RESERVOIR NOW AVAILABLE FOR FISHING AND BOATING The City s reservoir, located off Raymond Road in Paris Township, measures approximately 171 acres in surface area and extends to a depth of 40 feet. There is a 2 mile walking trail at the top of the reservoir. Enhancements to the Upground Reservoir facility were completed in 2016. These improvements allow recreational amenities that will enable small motorized watercraft (not to exceed 10 horsepower) to boat on the reservoir and to permit public fishing. The reservoir has been stocked with yellow perch over the last two years in preparation for these improvements. The facility includes an additional parking lot for boat trailers, wider access drive, larger boat ramp and adjacent boarding dock. These enhancements will allow access and maneuverability for vehicles with boat trailers. The City of Marysville received $427,250 in funding from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Watercraft Cooperative Boating Facility Grant and the ODNR Division of Wildlife Boater-Angler Fund for the design and construction of the reservoir improvements. 2 www.marysvilleohio.org

PARKS & RECREATION UPDATES RESERVOIR RULES The operation of any boat or watercraft must be in compliance with the rules and regulations of the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ORC 1547.531). Boats with a motor in excess of 10.0 horsepower are prohibited. Boats must be launched at the designated boat ramp and be operated in compliance with all applicable watercraft laws. Boats and trailers must be removed from the reservoir property after closing hours unless actively engaged in fishing. Swimming (including pets) is not permitted in the reservoir. Pets are permitted and must be on a leash while on reservoir property. Recreational fishing from the banks of the reservoir or from a boat is permitted twenty-four (24) hours/day, seven (7) days per week. Fishing is not permitted from the boat launching dock. Bow fishing is permitted from boats only. Fish caught from the reservoir must be returned to the water alive or removed from the property in compliance with state fishing bag limits. Cleaning fish is prohibited on reservoir property. Hunting, camping, the discharge of firearms, horseback riding and the operation of all-terrain vehicles and snowmobiles are prohibited on reservoir property. Sledding and cross country skiing are permitted away from the water. The disposal of any object or substance of any kind in the water of the reservoir is prohibited. All trash must be properly disposed of in designated trash cans or removed from the property. Refer to City Codified Ordinance Chapter 952 for a complete listing of all rules and regulations associated with the Upground Reservoir.
