A monkey, a spider, a humming bird, all of vast size, can be seen from light aircraft - try to decipher the mystery yourself. Such flights cross the twenty geoglyphs on the Nasca plain as well as those discovered more recently at Palpa. The trip ends by flying over the mountains, where you will find marine fossils up to 150 million years old. Please Note: Flights from Pisco are operated in larger aircrafts than those that depart from Nazca. All flights from Pisco use modern Cessna Grand Caravan airplanes that are less than 4 years old. 5

Day 04 PARACAS LIMA Shared morning excursion to the Ballestas Islands The Ballestas Islands are sometimes described as Peru's mini-galápagos. The islands have been eroded to form countless natural caves and arches. In fact, this is where the islands' name comes from - the word Ballesta means 'bow' (as in archery). Touring by boat around these small Islands, you can easily spot hundreds of birds, including pelicans, boobies, Inca terns and cormorants. The islands also provide shelter to the Humboldt penguins which are usually seen at the entrances to the little caves. Along the stony beaches you will see hundreds of sea lions. In addition, visitors will also see the enigmatic figure known as El Candelabro, a mysterious drawing located on the slope of a hill overlooking the sea. Shared transfer to the coach station to board your coach. Cruz del Sur Dep: Paracas 16:30 Arr: Lima 20:10 Shared transfer on arrival to your hotel. Allpa 1 x Standard Room on a Bed & Breakfast basis for 1-night 7

Day 05 LIMA CUSCO Private transfer to the airport to meet your onward flights with LATAM. LA2027 Economy Dep: Lima 09:44 Arr: Cusco 11:16 Private transfer on arrival to your hotel. Los Portales 1 x Superior Room on a Bed & Breakfast basis for 3-nights Overlooking El Sol Avenue, with uninterrupted views of the sacred Koricancha Temple, this contemporary boutique hotel is only a few blocks from the Main Square. Day 06 CUSCO Shared half day Cusco city tour You will start your scenic tour at the Coricancha, also known as the Temple of the Sun. From here you will then go to the Cathedral, the most important building on the Main Square and one of the most splendid Spanish colonial churches in America, which is shaped as a Latin Cross and houses about 400 colonial paintings. Its construction lasted almost a century, it started in 1560 and ended in 1654, hundreds of stones were taken from the Sacsayhuamán fortress for use in the building. 8

Day 07 CUSCO Days at leisure. Numerous activities can be arranged locally. Cusco, the former capital of the Inca Empire, carries the title of the Archaeological Capital of America with pride. Cusco, literally means navel in the local Quechua language and it certainly still fits this description today, as it is at the centre of Andean culture. It is the gateway city to the Andes, from where you can easily visit countless sites such as the famous Machu Picchu, one of the most fascinating lost cities in the world. There is no other place in the whole continent where you can easily reach ruins of such an amazing culture which are still in a good condition. The contrast between autochthon and western, history and present, gives Cusco its special beauty and charm, making it one of the most popular travel hubs of Latin America. Full of bars, museums, restaurants and cobbled stoned streets with small shops and friendly people. 9

Day 08 CUSCO SACRED VALLEY Shared full day excursion & transfer to the Sacred Valley including lunch After being collected from your hotel, your first stop of the day will be at a farm specialising in the rearing of South American Camelids. The farm near Awanakancha is home to a textile showroom and here locals will demonstrate the entire traditional process of weaving. Next you will visit Pisac market, here you can find an intriguing mix of local produce, including carvings, textiles and replicas of old Inca pieces. Pisac is also where you will stop for lunch, which can be enjoyed at a local restaurant. In the afternoon you will continue on to Ollantaytambo to explore the town whose residents still live in accordance with their old traditions. Ollantaytambo shows a huge archaeological complex that, without a doubt is one of the most monumental works of the Inca Empire. Although it bears the name of fortress, it was actually a tambo, a leisure place used to accommodate the delegations that travelled long distances. After your excursion you will be transferred onto your hotel. Villa Urubamba 1 x Standard Room on a Bed & Breakfast basis for 2-nights This cosy lodge set in stunning gardens is in the heart of the Sacred Valley of the Incas.
