2012 This year, we are delighted to have both Horowhenua District Council and Tararua District Council host the Civica New Zealand User Conference. The Conference sessions will be held within Horowhenua District Council s Chambers, located at Levin. The Council Chambers offer superior conference facilities within their recently completed Council building. Levin is the largest town in the Horowhenua district, nestled beneath the magnificent Tararua Ranges and close to Lake Horowhenua. The location is easily accessible from airports at both Palmerston North (50km north) and Wellington (90km south). Accommodation for Conference delegates will be provided at various hotels/motels within the Levin local area. These properties include: Bassingers Motor Lodge, Mountain View Hotel, Panorama Hotel and Redwood Motel. Upon registration for the Conference, accommodation will be allocated and confirmed individually. A bus service will operate between each property, which will transfer delegates to and from the Conference venue. Breakfast will be provided each morning at the Conference venue. The Conference programme features sessions on the latest product developments across the Authority Enterprise Software Suite for Local Government. Authority Version 6.6, long term planning, reporting and strategic asset management are some of the key areas of focus. On Monday afternoon, the programme offers stream sessions, that will allow delegates to select the most appropriate topic. The three stream sessions are: Authority Asset Management, Authority BIS & Performance Manager and Authority Online Application Lodgement. During the Conference, delegates will also hear from Council presenters, and will have the opportunity to exchange ideas and experiences with Council peers and Civica staff. Prior to dinner, we will sample wines from Ohau Gravels who are best known for producing exciting and elegant wines with intense fruit flavours. The region surrounding the Ohau Gravels vineyard has been shaped by the Ohau River, which has laid down deposits of gravel, resulting in a stony yet fertile soil. Warm sunshine reflects off the stones onto the vines, producing high quality grapes and top quality wines. These wines will also be offered at our dinner.
