Top Sales Techniques from Michael Beck You CAN Sell $10,000.00 in Ten Days! { } THE SCOUT PRESENTATION Hi sir/ma am, my name is (first name only!) and I m a Scout with Pack/Troop. We are selling popcorn to help raise money for our Pack/Troop activities this coming year. You can help us by buying some of our deee-licious popcorn. You ll help us, won t you? Corporate Sales; Helping Scouts at Work Companies throughout our communities will agree to help our Scouts meet their popcorn goals if they are only asked. Here are some ideas for including companies in the campaign: Take an order form to work Take containers of popcorn to work to display and sell Promote popcorn as a great corporate gift for customers and suppliers Encourage businesses to keep some popcorn on hand or in their break rooms for employees and guests Arrange for Scouts in uniform to come on site with samples and order forms. Find the person who will authorize the use of popcorn as a gift or premium. Corporate budget decisions are often made by the Human Resource Manager, Marketing Manager or Company Incentive Program Manager between the months of May and October, so plan your approach and set up meeting dates in advance. Companies choose product first, and the organization behind the product second. Sell them on the product quality and then the fact that 70% of the sales price goes back to Scouting in the immediate area. If they choose to give popcorn as premiums or gifts, the company can use the added benefit of supporting Scouts! Although you might be aiming at the holiday gift-giving programs, companies have reward and incentive programs all year long for safety awareness, good attendance, service anniversaries and business referrals. Target companies who give out a lot of holiday gifts to all of their customers- banks, insurance agents, car dealers, doctors, dentists, cable companies, etc. Be creative, and have fun! The Parents Roles Parents have a very important role in the success of the popcorn sale. Even if you are not a Scout Leader, you can be a sales team member in the family, Pack, Troop or Crew. You can show support for your Scout in many different ways! Help your Scout to set a goal to improve their chances of success. Identify a specific event, piece of equipment, or other milestone that becomes a concrete and achievable goal. Make the sale a family affair. Take an order form with you to work, and help to staff the Show-N-Sell events with your son. Spend an hour or two and coach the Scouts to success! Help your Scout to understand that they are making a contribution to their Pack, Troop, or Crew. Make this a chance for your Scout to improve his communication skills and gain confidence. Encourage your Scout to display confidence by talking with people about a product most will buy. Coach him how to handle No in a positive way! Help your Scout learn about the importance of organization and preparation; don t plan to fail by failing to plan! Lead by example; be sure to show others that you are supporting Scouts by being the first order on your Scout s sales sheet! 2

The Scout must apply for the 6% alternative in the FIRST YEAR with Camp Masters. 2. The Council provides a Sales Achievement Form (available from Camp Masters) and notes on the form the Scout is applying for the 6% program. 3. This form is normally used for Sales Achievement of $1,500 and up; HELP SUPPORT OUR Military Since the program began in 2007, total contributions have amounted to over $3,719,875.00! Together, with Scouts in your area and CAMP MASTERS, you can become a part of the effort to show our support for the U.S. Military by making an extra purchase of CAMP MASTERS Popcorn. With your Military purchase, CAMP MASTERS Popcorn will be shipped to U.S. military personnel serving our country at various military facilities throughout the U.S. and around the world, including product shipped to Operation USO2GO (www.uso.org/uso2go.aspx), SUPPORT OUR TROOPS, www.supportourtroops. org,veterans Hospitals, VA Programs and the National Guard. SUPPORT OUR TROOPS AND ScOUTING, TOO! Make an extra purchase of $25 (order Item Z) or $40 (order item W) & CAMP MASTERS Popcorn will be shipped to the Military. 70% of all proceeds benefit local Scouting. however, for participation in the scholarship program we recognize their sales may be less than the $1,500 required on this form. Their participation is based on past sales and we will honor their sales reward in their former program. Payment will be rounded up to the nearest ten dollars. 4. Total Sales must be noted on the form. 5. Council must attach a copy of the report for the Scout s current scholarship fund (or some other document that verifies they are current participants in the scholarship program.) 6. Council must sign the forms to verify accuracy. 7. Council will submit this form along with all other sales achievement forms to Camp Masters. For Scouts choosing to stay with the 6% program, American Express Gift Cheques will be issued for the Scout s investment in their educational savings program. Some Scouts will put the money in interest bearing accounts, others use the money to purchase pre-paid college education in the states that have such programs. There are no Camp Masters 3 restriction on the savings and use of the money.
