Trivett Square, Nottingham A regeneration scheme of 140 new build apartments in the Lace Market conservation area in the City of Nottingham. The scheme kick started the regneration of this inner city area.
Heather, Leicestershire A group of eight houses and three bungalows arranged in a courtyard form, in a rural setting. The scheme was rated A+ under North West Leicestershire s ourplace TM scheme that rates the design quality of new homes and neighbourhoods. David Taylor Close secured the highest ourplace TM score within North West Leicestershire, achieving 17.5 points out of 20.
Mansfield Woodhouse, Nottinghamshire A terrace of three houses with the same layout but built to levels 4, 5 and 6 of the Code for Sustainable Homes. The houses are equipped with monitoring systems so that the energy consumption of the properties can be compared.
Navigation Yard, Sleaford, Lincolnshire A contemporary courtyard design of fl ats within the heart of a conservation area in a rural Lincolnshire town.
Bakewell, Derbyshire 36 houses in the Peak District National Park. This scheme exemplifi es the local vernacular through the use of natural materials and traditional detailing. The largest affordable housing scheme in the Park since the 1940 s. This scheme has been illustrated in the Peak District National Park Authoritiy s design guide.
Loughborough, Leicestershire Conversion of a redundant railway warehouse into houses and the design of new fl ats onto the Grand Union Canal. We gained funding to install photovoltaics to the roof. This scheme won a Green Apple award.
Fabric Yeoman Street, Leicester Conversion of a former shoe factory into 44 inner city apartments with exposed brick interiors. Parking was cleverly designed into the cellars.
Holdingham, Lincolnshire A rural exception site for 100 houses and fl ats. The contemporary design uses natural materials and incorporates rooms in the roof. The Homezone layout aims to reduce vehicle speeds and make the public space safe for pedestrians. The HCA recently awarded the scheme a Building for Life score of 16.
Newark Castle Station, Nottinghamshire The regeneration of the riverside in Newark with a mix of new houses and converted listed buildings in a conservation area.
Sleaford, Lincolnshire Three storey, curved terraced housing with under croft parking. The scheme was opened by the former Chief Executive of the Housing Corporation, John Rouse.
Market Overton, Leicester The use of built form to create a small enclosed group of houses in a rural setting.
Crescent West, Kettering Inner city apartments with contemporary interiors. The balcony access avoids monotonous internal corridors.
Parwich, Derbyshire A redundant school house replaced with three family houses for local people. The sale of the land contributed to the fund to extend the local school. Best Community-led initiative: UK Housing Awards 2004
Mansfield Woodhouse, Nottinghamshire A group of fl ats for adults with learning diffi culties. The design allows for front doors to be viewed from the managers offi ce. The building sits within the conservation area and constructed with natural stone and terracotta pan tiles.
Windy Ridge, Derby We worked closely with the occupational therapist and carers to ensure the design of the bungalow met the needs of the clients. The bungalow meets code 4 of the Code for Sustainable Homes.
