It is located in the center of the city, very close to the Fish Market. The outlet specializes in Norwegian handicrafts and traditional costumes. However, they also sell jewelry and silver crafts. Located by the harbor, this market is one of the best places in the area to buy things, as well as to just observe the locals doing their daily activities. Even though it is called the Fish Market, many other goods are for sale here, like clothes, fruits, and vegetables. Most of the street is closed to motor vehicles. The street is probably the most common meeting place for the people of Bergen. Adding to its popularity is the large number of shops and restaurants available thereon. The street has many shops that sell a giant variety of goods, most of them located in the pedestrian area.
