Welcome to Leisure Express Trip and Travel! O ur goal is to provide diverse travel opportunities that support and empower individuals to achieve their life goals. The trips are open to teens and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. While we are having a safe, fun trip exploring, each traveler is improving and gaining skills including independence, health and wellness, money handling, social skills, confidence, communication, and so much more! We look forward to seeing you on one of our fun travel adventures! General Information The Arc of San Diego is one of the largest, most comprehensive service providers for people with disabilities in San Diego County. The PALS department has been offering quality travel adventures for over 15 years to places such as Colorado, Mexico, Hawaii, New York, Canada, Alaska, Las Vegas, and more! All trips maintain a minimum of 1:4 staff to participant ratio. If you need additional assistance please call or email for further information. Leisure Express utilizes standard access vehicles. Travelers must be able to transfer into vehicles that do not have wheelchair lifts or ramps. Trips are all inclusive, meaning all accommodations, activities, meals, transportation (from designated locations), support staff, tickets, and tips are covered by the price listed. Travelers only need additional money for souvenirs. Payment Information Deposits are due by the sign-up date listed. Full payments for each trip are due by the full balance due date listed. Payments can be made by credit card, cash, or check made out to The Arc of San Diego - Leisure Express. Registration material will be sent to you once the deposit is received. Your spot is not confirmed on the trip until we receive full payment and registration materials. Deposits are non-refundable. Incomplete disclosure of pertinent information may result in the participant being sent home early at their own expense with no refund. Refunds for Domestic Trips Cancel within 60 days before departure: Deposit and any pre-purchased items are non-refundable. Cancel within 59-31 days before departure: Deposit and a $150.00 processing fee and any pre-purchased items are non-refundable. Cancel within 30 days or less before departure: NO refund. Palm Springs, CA When: February 21 22, 2015 Cost: $375.00 per person Sign-up By: Wednesday, January 21, 2015 Deposit: $200.00 due by sign-up date above Full Balance Due: Wednesday, February 4, 2015 Let s start off 2015 with a Palm Springs adventure! We will be taking a road trip to Palm Springs for a 2 day, 1 night adventure. The adventures will begin with a Dune Buggy Tour in the desert to see the historic windmills, learn how they work, and why they are there. Next we will be taking the tram 8,000 feet up to the top of the mountain. Once at the top we will eat a delicious meal in the restaurant while overlooking the beautiful San Jacinto Mountains. While in Palm Springs, we will also be visiting the natural hot springs. Remember to bring your bathing suit! We hope you can join us on the first 2015 adventure! Give the Gift of Adventure! Dress warm and pack your bags; we re going to Lake Tahoe. Come join us when we visit one of the biggest lakes in the world. We will be spending four days, three nights at Tahoe. We will first begin by leaving San Diego early morning. On the drive up, we will enjoy California's coast and beautiful sceneries. During this time of year, the Tahoe mountains will be covered with snow. In Tahoe we will build snowmen, ride in a horse drawn sleigh, go tubing, and visit local shops to find the perfect souvenir. Why go to Vegas when Reno is only an hour away from Tahoe? Let s visit two states in one trip! On the Nevada side of the Lake is Reno. In Reno we will have a chance to play some slots, go to a show, and visit other local attractions. We will spend each night back at our beautiful rented home in Tahoe. We will make delicious healthy meals each evening enjoy hot chocolate by the fireplace, and games. You do not want to miss out on the last trip of the year. You can! We are headed to the Zoo Safari Park to join the Safari Roar and Snore. First we will spend a full day exploring the Safari Park. Later that evening we will get to stay in tents overnight at the park observing giraffes, antelope, and rhinos around the camp fire. We have the opportunity to go on guided walks, enjoy camp activities, and delicious meals all at the park. You can fall asleep to the sound of animals. Space is limited and will fill very quickly!
