ADC Design News: your monthly update on what's happening in the world of Australian contemporary craft and design. No Images? Click here Website What's on News On Tour Donate Object Shop Happy New Year! It s been a big year already with some fantastic news of funding for projects and the announcement earlier this week of our partnership with WORKSHOPPED to present the iconic WORKSHOPPED18. Next week NSW Arts Minister Don Harwin launches Obsessed: Compelled to make before it heads off on tour to 11 venues across Australia. It s been such a privilege to work with these 14 artists and the creative team to make an exhibition, films, a book and a tour. We know you ll enjoy their obsessions with making. Also opening next week is the brilliant artistic collaboration Future Artefacts. I saw this towards the end of last year at Craft in Melbourne and was spellbound to see what I could be wearing in a future universe! In Object Space we feature social design project Play up! We re off to Hawkesbury River Gallery next week to open the beautiful Clay Intersections in its first touring venue. Proud to be part of the Sydney Design Festival in March produced by MAAS. As part of the Festival we re holding our local street makers market in Darlinghurst on 10 March. https://objectauscentre.createsend.com/t/viewemail/r/51fec940a31312be2540ef23f30feded/c67fd2f38ac4859c/?tx=0&previewall=1&print=1 1/13

If you are in Paddington don t miss Sabbia Gallery s excellent group exhibition SKETCH Masters of Glass 2018. I was at last night s opening when Canberra Glasswork s Artistic Director Jane Cush spoke so eloquently about the importance of drawing in design and enjoyed catching up with many of the artists. Lisa Cahill CEO and Artistic Director Obsessed: Compelled to make Obsessed: Compelled to make explores the preoccupations that drive the creative process, providing an insight into the working practices of fourteen artists from across Australia. Moving beyond the finished work, this project tells the hidden stories of making, uncovering the artists inspirations, day to day studio experiences, years of expertise and the joys and frustrations of obsession. When: 8 February 24 March 2018 https://objectauscentre.createsend.com/t/viewemail/r/51fec940a31312be2540ef23f30feded/c67fd2f38ac4859c/?tx=0&previewall=1&print=1 2/13
