HAPPY NEW YEAR! From allll off us at the Lubbock Mustang Cllub,, have a Happy,, Heallthy and Prosperous 2012 NOTES FROM THE PRESIDENT Happy New Year, Our first meeting of the year will be January 5 th at Red Zone. Come join us to get 2012 moving with your Mustang club. While we are still in the winter s chill, it won t be too long before it will be warm and sunny and we can start showing the cars off once again. So, we need you to join us to help get the year rolling and plan events for the new year. For now you ll be seeing this and the remainder of the newsletter via the web site. Mike is working hard to get things so that our letter will be available via the web. With the retirement of Dennis, we are still hoping for a new editor for the newsletter, but until that occurs our notes will be via the web. If you have suggestions regarding the newsletter please let us know. We had a great Christmas party at the Rollo Gurss party barn, however, the turnout was low. The weather apparently kept a lot of folks at home. Those of us that made it enjoyed some delicious BBQ, fixins and terrific deserts. It is already time for us to decide on next Christmas s event since many places book up early. So, again we need your input on new location, costs, etc. We spent a fair amount of club money to cover for those that didn t make the event, since we had to provide a guarantee of 40 members. Thanks to Charlie and Linda Ricks, along with Laura and Jim Hamlet for getting gifts and door prizes for the party. Also, thanks to Dennis and Ronnie for helping with the financial end of the party and club funds. Also, thanks to Mike for keeping the web site and facebook active and for working on the newsletter. We, as a club, say a BIG thanks to Dennis for all of his work, support and etc for the club for many years and we re glad that he will stay an active member, along with Kay. Please join us as we get the new year underway. John Doc's Thoughts Officers were elected at the Christmas party and they will look familiar. John and Laura were coerced into staying in the two top spots. Chuck volunteered to once again honcho the car show with his same merry band of followers. Ronnie and I will continue to push paper and pound

keyboards for you also. I want to echo John's thanks to Dennis for his years of service. He's not going anywhere though, so we expect to see you at all the events, Dennis. I'm going to use this space each month to plug upcoming events and maybe include happenings at the meetings you may have missed. The 14th annual Blue Ribbon Rally will be April 28, 2012. For those of you not familiar with it, the Blue Ribbon Rally benefits the Family Outreach Center here in Lubbock and is held in the Depot District. Our club handles the parking and the Caprock Classic Car Club does registration duties. So, it's a fun collaboration for a good cause in a unique venue. Keep that date open and you'll hear more about it in the future. At our meeting on the 5th we will be deciding some important dates, like the annual Mustang Birthday Party, the car show, and as John mentioned, where and when to have next year's Christmas party. Come out, if you can, and give us your input. There will be a link to the newsletter every month on the Facebook site and also this web site. If you are a Facebook user, "Like" on the LMC page and, of course, all new info posted will show up on your home page.
