22 nd July 2016 Monthly Offshore Report July 2016 Subsea Pemex has awarded McDermott with an EPCI contract for the Abkatun-A2 Platform worth USD 454 Million. The contractor will utilise Derrick Barge 50 and the Intermac 650 float-over installation vessel for the project. Offshore activities are planned for 2018 with completion scheduled for 4Q of 2018. Siem Offshore Contractors have been awarded work for delivery and installation of cable system on Beatrice offshore Windfarm by SHL Offshore Contractors. The windfarm, located north-east of the coast of Scotland, will consist of 84 turbines of 7MW. Work is scheduled to start in 2017 with completion 3Q 2018. Siem will utilise the Siem Moxie and Siem Aimery. Ocean Installer has completed its first Ultra-Deep water (>2500m) mooring job in the Gulf of Mexico. Courtesy of Solstad Offshore The MT6022 design SS Nujomi has been delivered to Debmarine Namibia by Kleven Verft Ulsteinvik. 2000 tons of additional equipment is due to be installed onboard the vessel in Cape Town, preparing the vessel for deep water mineral exploration offshore Namibia. Bibby offshore has secured further short term work for the Bibby Topaz. The project is due to start in August 2016 and includes air and saturation diving support work. The contract is due to start promptly and will have a duration of up to two months. The Norwegian Owner has also secured work for the Polar Queen, the vessel will be working in the renewables sector for Senvion GmbH. The commencement on Nordsee One Windfarm is spring 2017 and the contract has a firm period of 7 months plus options. Saipem pipe laying vessel Catsorone is being upgraded at Keppel Offshore & Marines yard in Singapore. The work which includes pipelay system upgrades is scheduled to be completed in 3Q 2016. The pipelay vessel will be used on the EUR 1.5 Billion contract awarded to Saipem recently for the Zohr Gas field located off the Egyptian coast in the Mediterranean Sea. The project awarded by Petrobel is an EPCI contract and consists of installation of export and service trunklines as well as deep water field development. The work is due to commence this month and to be completed by end 2017. Pipelay barge C6, C10 and other specialised vessels will also be utilised for this project. Page 01
ONGC has awarded a contract for geotechnical site investigation to Fugro. The project on the East coast of India will commence by the end of 3Q 2016 and will see the Fugro Voyager performing work in water depths ranging from 50 1500m. The 1996 built Siem Carrier has been sold to an undisclosed buyer. The modified PSV has worked on various projects, including cable lay during the years. According to the press release the vessel will no longer trade in the OSV segment. departed Stavanger on 19 th July ready for the world s first North Sea platform safari. The North Sea oil-cruise on the 130m long vessel with space for 600, left for a 3 day s journey to Molde with 62 cruise passengers onboard - all ready to explore the Norwegian coast. The route will take them up close to installations on Edvard Grieg, Johan Sverdrup, Oseberg, Troll and Gjoa field. Nord Stream 2 AG has awarded the contract for concrete weight coating and storing of more than 200,000 pipes to Wasco Coatings Europe. Although it is still subject to final negotiations, the work is planned to start in September 2016 with the coating process due to start beginning 2017. Tenders for the pipelay activity has been submitted and contractors are awaiting further clarifications for the approx. 2,400km pipeline. Havila Shipping has come to an agreement with DeepOcean for amendments in the charter of subsea construction vessel Havila Phoenix. The revised agreement includes reduction in the vessel daily rate against an extension of period. Seamec has secured a charter with HAL Offshore for the multipurpose diving support vessel Seamec II. The period is for 3 years and the contract value is in the region of USD 28 million. The vessel will be working for end client ONGC. Rana has been awarded a contract for IMR work on 17 platforms offshore Congo. Seismic TGS kicked off a 2D multi-client campaign offshore North West Australia. The Northwest Shelf Renaissance 2D survey consists of approximately 8,000 km and is carried out in cooperation with BGP who will deploy the BGP Explorer. Norwegian offshore technology company in April has signed a LOI to supply a Venator nodal system to Geo Energy Group (GEG) of Kazakhstan. The agreement is potentially worth USD 25-30 million and will start with a test project this autumn in the Caspian, while GEG will tender the system for upcoming OBS contracts. Project Cargo The consortium of Technip JGC Corporation and Chiyoda will see the previously reported BigRoll Bering begin a long term contract with Yamgaz. The Bering will join the BigRoll Barentz in transporting modules from China to the Yamal LNG project in Sabetta Russia. Two more MC Class vessels will be delivered to Big Roll - the BigRoll Baffin and BigRoll Beaufort. Searcher Seismic announced the commencement of its Buscador Near-Shore project offshore Mexico. The 11,200 km 2D survey is undertaken by the BGP Pioneer. BigLift have announced the commencement of their newbuild vessel mv Happy Sun. Measuring at 156 m long with a 29 m width deck and a deadweight of 18,374 mtns, the leading 2 x 900 mtn craned heavy lift MPP will join its sister vessels Happy Sky and Happy Star following its anticipated delivery in Q1 2018. BGP Pioneer The CGG Amadeus has commenced the acquisition of 882 km2 of 3D data in the Gulf of Thailand. The programme is carried out on behalf of Kris Energy and is expected to last 41 days. PGS and WesternGeco have been awarded contracts for seismic data acquisition in the UK. Between 10,000 and 15,000 km of data is expected to be collected between July and Q4 2016. PGS will deploy the Nordic Explorer on the East Shetland Platform, while WesternGeco's WG Magellan is scheduled to work on the South West Britain area. Page 03
Leading MPP operator Intermarine recently transported 4 x oversized coke drums, weighing in at over 300mtns each with dimensions of 34.4 m x 8 m x 8.2 m each. The Heavy Lift vessel Ocean Freedom with its 2 x 400 mtn cranes was chosen to ship the large units, in part due to its capability to utilise her cranes in a single or tandem lift. The Drums were successfully discharged onto barges in New Orleans following their lengthy journey from origination in Dijon Spain.
