Upgrade of Uganda Baati Retail Office. In 2014, the management of Uganda Baati Limited made a strategic decision to upgrade its retail. The office was completed at the end of 2014 with its design derived from the extensive product and customer experience shops. The transformation has yielded tremendous results in such a way that apart from improving the work environment of its retail staff, it has gone on to make the customer service experience even more adventurous and enjoyable for the Customers because they get to touch and feel the samples of the products they are intending to buy, way before they place their orders. Furthermore the outlay of the s in the office goes on to give the customers a sneak pic of how the final product will look. With that said, this year am even more excited and enthusiastic for what is yet to come for the retail department and Uganda Baati Limited as a whole Best Regards Hans Peter Ssenyonjo Customer service officer UNBS officials visit to MRM, Mariakani to understanding the AZ process UBL intends to switch the market from GI to AZ and for the same UNBS (Uganda National bureau of Standards) executives were taken to MRM Mariakani to show the AZ process and its benefits over GI. Starting of Rails for transporting of material by UBL from Kenya (MRM) It was a historic moment at UBL that the company has started using Rails (RVR Rift Valley Railways) for transporting goods from MRM Mariakani, Mombasa to Uganda Baati. This facility of using rail as a transport medium was not used since 1990 s. The first lot was loaded from Mariakani on 22nd Nov 2014, as shown below The time taken to reach Uganda Baati first time was 15 days and then it was gradually reduced to 8 days. So far, UBL has transported approx. 1850MT of coils from MRM in 3 lots. Rail being an economical medium to transport goods has helped UBL to reduce on its transport costs. UBL is now looking to use rails as a prime medium of transporting material, also looking to start soon for Port consignments.
