Executive Summary Dear Valued Sponsors, Exhibitors & Partners: It has been a great pleasure to have you at BioPharma India Convention 2012. As part of Terrapinn s commitment to customer service, we bring you the BioPharma India Convention 2012 Post Event Report. The purpose of this report is to provide you with valuable information about the marketing of our conferences, the attendee list and provide feedback on the results of the show. You may use this report to better understand your customers - the delegates to the show. The report will also help you better prepare for next year s BioPharma India Convention and provide you with greater insights on the industry demands, in the areas of clinical trials and manufacturing needs of India pharmas and biotechs. BioPharma India Convention was successfully staged at Grand Hyatt in Mumbai from 26-27 November 2012, attracting a total of 235 industry professionals who convened from India and other parts of Asia, Europe and North America. With more than 50 world-class speakers, attendees heard expert advice, presentations and case studies on the opportunities in India s biopharmaceutical industry. Our newly adopted partnering system and onsite networking assistance were complementary in adding value to the attending business leaders and scientists in meeting their target audience and discuss potential partnerships. The event also showcased the leading pharmaceutical, biotechs, and solution providers that comprise the Indian biomedical market place. We have taken note of our conference attendees feedback to increase allocated time for networking between delegates and exhibitors, as well as to increase the time for presentation to provide ample time for Q&A. One-to-one networking opportunities and valuable face time continue to be an interest for many delegates and they look forward to participation in 2013 to learn more about new technologies and innovative methods to improve biologic manufacturing processes, as well as build knowledge on how to effectively conduct clinical trials in India beginning with clinical trial design right up to post-marketing. As a sponsor of the event, your participation and support in this event is deeply appreciated. Terrapinn is committed to providing an effective platform for the industry and to build upon the success for an even better event in 2013. We will continue to conduct research and work closely with industry experts to deliver the definitive event and meeting place for the industry. We look forward to working with you on 2013! Conference Performance PROGRAMME BioPharma India Convention 2012 featured two conferences focusing on biologic manufacturing and clinical trials in India, and this comes on the back of India continued leadership positioning as the biologic manufacturing hub in Asia, and in response to a growing interest to conduct clinical trials in India. With an emphasis on back to basics content this year, the conferences hosted an impressive speaker faculty of approximately 50+ expert speakers (with a 70-30 buyer to vendor ratio) from leading global and Indian pharmas and their service providers, reinforcing BioPharma India Convention s draw and reputation as the most strategic event in India s biomedical industry. The depth and breadth of the conference programme lined-up over the two full days was broadened to incorporate: Plenary and keynote morning sessions which play host to an elite class of commercial business leaders, scientists and convention-breaking biopharma industry gurus Parallel stream sessions that focus on the various manufacturing and clinical trial processes integral to a successful management of a project Focus sessions on business opportunities in biosimilars manufacturing and overcoming regulatory challenges while conducting clinical trials in India Networking sessions strategically distributed throughout the day s events to allow interactive discussions with presenting speakers and exploration of potential collaboration The conference agenda brought together a varied audience of manufacturing and clinical trial industry stakeholders, and was generally well received by our 200+ strong audience.
Participation The event saw an increase in attendance of approximately 13.5%, and this could be attributed to an increase in exhibitor participation as well as co-location of a Pharma Trials conference. As per past events, BioPharma India saw a strong attendance of India-based conference delegates, with continued participation from representatives in Asia, Europe and US. Pharma & Biotechs remain the key attendee profile at this conference, with new representation of attendees from Merck India, Hetero Drugs, Shashun Pharmaceuticals and Abbott India.
BioPharma India Convention 2012 brought together many notable industry leaders of the India biopharmaceutical sector, and approximately 44% of attendees were Director levels and above.
