FROM BRUCE At JH Ranch, we often talk about what we call The Everlasting Adventure. It s the adventure you re about to embark upon this summer, and I think you ll find that it s unlike anything you ve ever experienced. 9 The journey actually started with a dream my dad, Gene Johnston, and I had many years ago to create an undistracted environment where people could stop and evaluate their life a place where they would find not just inspiration, but also application. That s what you ll find this summer true, action-packed adventure where you can learn life principles that you will build on in years to come. So come ready for incredible fun, ready to jump in as we pursue the Everlasting Adventure. We are so grateful for the opportunity to serve and host you this summer at JH Ranch. We look forward to seeing you soon! Bruce and Heather Johnston President of JH Ranch and Director of JH Israel President and Founder of JH Ranch Are youready to start your adventure? 2

TRANSPORTATION Travel Guests for our Parent & Son/Daughter Adventures, Husband & Wife, and Cloud 9 programs are responsible for their own transportation to and from JH Ranch. Most of our guests fly into Sacramento (SMF), San Francisco (SFO), Redding (RDD), or Medford, OR (MFR) any of these airports will work and then rent a car to drive the rest of the way to the Ranch. You ll be using your rental or personal vehicle for various activities throughout your week at the Ranch, so make sure it s available to you for the entire week of your stay. For guests who wish to use a travel agent to arrange their transportation, Travel Designers in Birmingham, AL (205-251-7666) is familiar with our program needs. Note that we cannot guarantee their rates to be the lowest available. If you are booking your own flights, we generally recommend Southwest Airlines. While Traveling Driving Distances (EXPECT TRAVEL DELAYS) Please keep JH Ranch s phone number with you as you travel so you may notify us of any travel delays, allowing us to plan for your late arrival: (800) 242-1224 TRANSPORTATION 6

ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE Registration for Parent & Son/Daughter Adventures, Husband & Wife, and Cloud 9 will take place between 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. on the first day of the program (the first and last day of every program are both travel days). Your driving time to JH Ranch will vary depending on the airport you fly into, so be mindful of travel time when booking your flights. Also, note that dinner will NOT be served at the Ranch on arrival night, so be sure to eat before you arrive. The city of Yreka is a 45 minute drive from the Ranch and offers a good variety of restaurants. All program activities will end after a closing banquet on the final evening before your departure, so guests are free to depart any time after the banquet (it usually ends by 11:00 p.m.). We will provide a continental breakfast the following morning (the last listed day of your program) for our guests convenience. Please make your departing flight plans accordingly. RANCH TIPS Driving When driving to and from JH Ranch, please watch for deer and respect local residents by observing the speed limits, especially on French Creek Road. Valuables We advise our guests to leave expensive jewelry, electronic devices, sunglasses, etc. at home. JH Ranch will not be responsible for any lost or stolen valuables. Cell Phones Most guests bring a cell phone to use while traveling to and from the Ranch. Once you arrive, we suggest that you turn it off while you re here during the week. We guarantee you ll appreciate this rare opportunity to disconnect! Bookstore We have a Bookstore with clothing, books, CDs, and more, so you may want to leave a little extra space in your bag. Snacks and Coffee We wouldn t be telling you the whole truth if we didn t tell you that we have a delicious Snack Bar and Coffee Bar on the property. Stay Warm! Every year, our Bookstore sells a lot of sweatshirts to guests who don t bring warm enough clothing. Even though it s hot and dry during the day, it can get very cold in the evenings, so bring warm layers! RANCH TIPS Cameras Bring a camera! Some guests wish to use their smartphone as their camera. We understand the convenience, but we don t recommend it. Just keep in mind that you re responsible for keeping up with your things and for any damage they might incur during the week. 8

Almost done, but we still have a few more important things to go over. H Discretionary Spending: While at the Ranch, guests will have the opportunity to purchase items from our Snack Bar and Bookstore. Guests will also need money for meals while traveling to and from the Ranch. We suggest that each couple should set aside about $150 in discretionary spending money for their time at the Ranch. We recommend setting up a convenient spending account while you re here. Just contact us prior to your arrival to set it up! HF ollow-up Program Information: For guests registered for Parent & Son/Daughter or Husband & Wife Adventures, please be aware that we will be emailing some very important information regarding your program about 6 weeks before the program begins. HP ackages and Mail: We love delivering letters and postcards from home to our guests! Please have mail sent to our Etna, CA address. HP rohibited Items: Please be aware that chewing tobacco, cigarettes, alcohol, and non-prescription drugs are strictly prohibited at the Ranch. Violation of this policy and any inappropriate behavior disruptive to the program will result in a guest s being asked to leave without a refund. FINAL NOTES FINAL NOTES HF orms: If you haven t already, take advantage of this reminder by going to your account online at www.jhranch.com to finish filling out all necessary forms. 9
