Cub Scout Outdoor Activity Award Requirements: All ranks: Attend Cub Scout day camp or Cub Scout/Webelos Scout resident camp, plus do the following: Rank-specific Requirements: Tiger: Complete the Backyard Jungle adventure, and complete 4 outdoor activities. Wolf: Complete the Paws on the Path adventure and complete 5 outdoor activities. Bear: Complete the Bear Necessities adventure and complete 6 outdoor activities. Webelos: Complete the Webelos Walkabout adventure and complete 7 outdoor activities. Outdoor Activities (being completed during this Winter Campout) 1. Participate in a nature hike in your local area. 2. Explain the buddy system and tell what to do if lost. Explain the importance of cooperation. 3. Attend a pack overnighter. Be responsible by being prepared for the event. 4. Participate in an outdoor campfire program. Perform a skit, sing a song, or take part in a ceremony. 5. Participate in an outdoor interfaith or other worship service. 6. Invent an outside game and play it with friends for 30 minutes. Page 2 of 2
PACK CAMPING From the Mass Pike Directions to Moses 310 Birch Hill Rd. Russell, MA About 29 miles (45 minutes) Take Exit 3 Westfield. After the tolls take a right and head towards downtown Westfield on RT 10/202. From Westfield's downtown Take RT 20 WEST (the intersection with big CVS store) to RT 23 toward Blandford / Otis (left turn). Follow RT 23 to General Knox Road (take left immediately after BASE CAMP CONVENIENCE STORE onto General Knox Rd). Follow General Knox Rd over the crest, and then look for Birch Hill Rd on the right.
