Wendy s Wanderings WHERE WE VE BEEN BUDGEWOI (Annual Meeting) As is normal for this our second largest event of the year a large number of members were present Some for the week or longer, a weekend or even as day visitors. Much of the week was spent socialising, drinking coffee and soaking up the atmosphere of this of this lovely area. The annual meeting saw the same faces re elected to the committee with some scones and jam being the premier attraction. The club supplied hamburgers proved a hit that night with lots of good will towards the chefs who once again excelled. Lunch out was again a favourite with the local bowling club proving to be popular. Much talk of fishing but not a line was wet. Tuesday pm the park management warned of severe weather forecast for that night. This saw a lot of hurried departures, especially from some who had lakeside views last year. Another successful rally which all participants hope to take part in again

Tag a Long Budgewoi to the Griffith State Rally then to Bathurst Attendees: Terry & Lorraine Bain, Shaun Bowers & Lorraine Barrett, Paul & Helen Anderson, Joe & Wendy Agius. & Robin & Dorothy Wells from Morula, Ernie & Carline Ross from Cootamundra to Weethalle. First Stop Berry 4 vans left Budgewoi around 9am Wednesday 21 st March to make our way to Berry. Rain, lots of big trucks and a very congested Pennant Hills Road tested our drivers. We met up for a pit stop and coffee at partridge rest area. Paul and Helen went via Kangaroo Valley (oops they missed the turnoff) and had a very scenic trip to Berry. The showground at Berry has lots of grass, a camp kitchen and all facilities of a caravan park, and in a good location with a 10-minute easy walk into town. There were constant showers overnight we made use of the camp kitchen (the old chook shed) for morning tea, leaving Berry around 10.30 to make our way to Moruya for our 3-night stay. Berry is a good overnight stop or for a longer stay, on the 3 rd Sunday of the month the very popular Berry markets are held in the showground. Moruya We arrived around noon, set up and settled in for lunch and an afternoon rest. Dinner was at the local bowling club for the pizza and wine night. The park has made a few changes with a new large pool and heated spa, a tennis court, jumping pillow and children s play area, all located behind the camp kitchen. Friday a trip to the Bodalla Cheese Factory for hot scones jam and cream for our morning tea, a visit to Potato Point followed. Robin and Dorothy came up empty handed for the members draw and meat raffle at the bowling club Friday night. Saturday some visited the markers hoping for a few bargains. A BBQ Saturday night in the camp kitchen finished off our last night at Moruya. Jindabyne We left Moruya around 8.30am to our first stop at Bemboka Park for morning tea. We arrived at Jindabyne around 1pm setting up in the rain and strong winds. We all hibernated to our vans for the night due to the very gusty winds that were constant all night only easing the next morning. We needed jumpers, jackets and beanie s before venturing out of our vans to meet for morning tea, thankfully the winds eased by the afternoon. The camp kitchen gave us protection from the cold air for our afternoon tea & happy hour, there were large wall heaters so a BBQ dinner was planned in order for us to keep out of the cold and make use of them. Tuesday after morning tea we all went for a scenic drive to Thredbo, the place was almost deserted, after climbing what seem like 100 stairs we managed to find a café for lunch. Tuesday night we decided to make use of the parks Pizza Oven with Shaun and Lorraine being elected as the purchasing officers for the delicious pizzas from the local shop, well done $7 per couple for two pizzas of our choice. Joe made sure the oven was hot and the men took turns cooking the pizzas for us, each pizza only took about two minutes to cook and were enjoyed by all.

Our view over Lake Jindabyne Joe keeping the pizza oven going Tumut We left at 9am making our way to Adaminaby for our morning tea stop. The Snowy Mountain Highway was for me, a heart in my mouth journey with a very steep and narrow 6 km descent. We made a quick stop along the way at the very picturesque Blowering Dam. All vans were set up and ready for afternoon tea by 3pm. Thursday was Joe s birthday and a celebrational lunch was enjoyed by all at the Oriental Hotel Tumut, the men enjoyed a few ales of the pubs boutique beers. Back at the parks for afternoon tea, coffee and cake to finish off the afternoons celebrations. An early morning tea before leaving the park around 9.45am to make our way for the long 97ks trip to Cootamundra. TO BE CONTINUED

Wendy s Wanderings WHERE WE RE GOING The first tag a long was a great success, we travelled over 2700klms through some of the driest country side I have ever seen, the farmers are really doing it tough on the land. We would travel along and not see any live stock in the paddocks, no birds, not even road kill, as there is no feed or water for them. Arriving in Griffith the scenery changed and the area is green and lush with many crops and fruit trees planted. The State Rally was a credit to the Griffith Caravan Club. N.B. Griffith is no longer a fruit fly exclusion zone and no inspections are made re fruit carried into the area. Western NSW tag a long from Mudgee from 26 th September. This tag a long takes us through outback NSW and into QLD finishing up at Nundle NSW for a club rally 17 th October. There are 11 members attending so far, I need to confirm bookings soon, if you would like to join us for the whole trip or somewhere along the way would you please let me know by the end of March. The full programme is attached The members attending from Mudgee are, Agius, Bain, Battaglia, Ross, Henderson, Anderson, Bailey, Bowers, Wells, Bradshaw, Beesley.
