20 October 2010 Immediate Release 8th Asia's Fashion Jewellery & Accessories Fair September concludes positively Asia s Fashion Jewellery & Accessories Fair September (9FJ), which concluded on 17 September at AsiaWorld-Expo (AWE), once again proved itself as one of the most important platforms for the international fashion jewellery and accessories business. The fair welcomed 5,104 buyers, 10.67% higher than last year s edition. The Fair further revealed that almost 80% of buyers excluding Hong Kong were from overseas. Buyers from the United States and India formed the largest groups of overseas buyers. In terms of exhibitors, 9FJ featured 370 exhibitors from 17 countries and regions, namely: Australia, Austria, mainland China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Mauritius, Netherlands, Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom and United States. Featured group pavilions are mainland China, India, Korea, Philippines and Taiwan. The mood at the fair was overwhelmingly positive. Celine Lau, Director of Jewellery Fairs at UBM Asia, commented: The growth in the number of exhibitors and visitors this year confirms yet again the important role the fair plays in the fashion jewellery and accessories business. Based on interviews with visitors, we found that a majority of them visit 9FJ not only to source products but also to source ideas; these visitors said they found inspiration at the fair for upcoming collections. Exhibitors comments Thankadee Eruijkulsub, Manager of P.P. Jewelry & Accessories Co Ltd in Thailand: We met a number of our target buyers at this fair. I saw an increase in the number of buyers from the United Kingdom. We satisfied with the fair, including the organiser s services and free shuttle bus arrangement. We will exhibit again next year. Wendy Jang In Su, President of Hannah Fashion Belt Co Ltd from Korea: We met more buyers this year than last year. They came from the United States and Europe mainly. Asia s Fashion Jewellery & Accessories Fair (AFJ) is one of the most important fairs for us because it is a good platform to reach overseas buyers. We are satisfied with the organiser s excellent services and their promotion efforts. Praveen Sachdev, Director of Accessorize India from India: We are a first-time exhibitor in the September edition. We met some buyers from Australia. The organiser s services are impressive. AFJ is one the most important fairs for us.

James McGrath, Director of Nylon International in the United States: This is the sixth time we ve exhibited in this fair. We met a lot of target buyers from Europe and the United States. Some of them placed orders with us. We are satisfied with this result as the business we made is better than last year. We will surely join the fair again next year. Christine Hamoy-Kintanar, Representative of Earth Works Fashion Accessories Corp from the Philippines: We are satisfied with the services of the organiser and the contractor. We are happy we received a lot of orders during the fair and met buyers from France, Spain, Turkey and the United Kingdom. The September fair s timing is very good. We will exhibit next year. Visitors comments Sandra Villegas Rebellón, International Buyer of Studio F in Cali-Colombia: AFJ is a very important fair where I could learn the latest trends. I found some inspiration for the upcoming Spring/Summer collection. The convenient transportation and other services from the organiser are very impressive. I am planning to come again next year. Philippe Genovese, President of Venice from France: The organiser s services are so good that I could not think of any need for further improvement. We are very impressed by the quality of exhibitors and their competitively priced products are very impressive. I plan to visit the fair next year. Julia Kasanski, Representative of Gem Trade Co from Germany: I am glad that I met some new suppliers from China. They offered reasonable prices. I would say AFJ is one of the most important fairs for doing business and for learning about the upcoming trends. She added she appreciates the transportation arrangement and the fair s online pre-registration services. She will visit the fair again. Bibiana Carnota Moar, Designer at Adolfo Dominguez of Spain: AFJ is one of the most useful fairs for me when I search for new trends. This year, I met a number of quality exhibitors offering products at competitive prices. I usually find design inspirations here. The venue is conveniently located. Trip to the fair on the airport express is a lot of fun. Xie Wei, Manager of Shenzhen Han Dynasty Jewelry Co Ltd in China: The fair showcased a wide range of products. Grouping exhibitors into several pavilions made it easier for me to source specific collections. I was also inspired by new ideas for Spring/Summer trend products at the fair too. I will visit again next year.
