The report has identifi ed the Key Emerging Trends for the CE Industry. India s economy has remained resilient with GDP growth of 7-8 percent during the recession. The planned investments in infrastructure (>US$ 1 trillion) and growing urbanization will drive the construction industry to grow at 16-17 percent CAGR over the next 10 years. With private sector participation in infrastructure development expected to increase from ~25 percent to ~ 38 percent over the next decade, customers will increasingly look at mechanization and usage of specialized equipment to meet project deadlines and address skilled labour shortage. Constituted in 1949 as Tractor & Allied Equipment manufacturers and Importers Association Ltd., the association started with 10 Indian member companies, primarily manufacturers and importers of tractors, earthmoving and allied equipment.
