AUTUMN/WINTER PROGRAMME Wednesday 6th September at 2.15pm at the Riverside Centre Talk by Kenneth Hicks on 'An Island Legacy' Since his retirement Ken has studied the work of the Brannon family and also collected a large number of their original engravings which he has subsequently lodged with the Isle of Wight College for safe keeping for the Island. In his book 'An Island Legacy', Ken has provided a comprehensive record of Island towns, villages, land and seascapes, historic buildings and coastal views over a period of two hundred years, during which the Island has changed considerably. The book contains over one hundred and thirty original Brannon family engravings, many of which have not been seen before, with an equal number of modern coloured photographs taken from virtually the same locations. Kenneth Hicks is the President of the Isle of Wight Branch of Historical Association and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. Wednesday 7th March at 2.15pm at the Riverside Centre Talk by Anthony Roberts on 'The History of Haseley Manor' Haseley Manor has, possibly, the most chequered history of any of the Island Manor Houses.
