DO-IT-YOURSELF SAFARI DESIGN Over the past five years Baobab Safari has developed a fine reputation for customizing excellent safaris in Zimbabwe, Botswana and Zambia. We are proud to continue offering this personal service. In order to assist you in customizing a safari we have created safari-modules incorporating the most popular destinations and activities. It is then simple for you to combine the desired modules in order to create a safari to suit you. Below we describe the modules and then list some examples of itineraries that can be created by matching modules. Please remember that these are simply examples that have satisfied guests in the past. We will continue to offer a complete customized service to suit the particular needs of every guest. THE OKAVANGO DELTA The Okavango Delta is a unique 15 000 square kilometre wilderness paradise situated in Botswana. It is created when the Okavango River encounters the Kalahari Desert and spreads out searching for a route across the flat sands. The result is a shallow inland delta of crystal clear water dotted with palm-fringed islands, ranging from tiny protrusions above the water to the 1 000 square kilometre Chief s Island. The Okavango Delta incorporates the Moremi National Park, one of the wildest and most beautiful National Parks in Africa. Game viewing here is incomparable and unforgettable. Our safaris include time spent exploring on the water as well as game viewing on land. Our Okavango Delta module is of 5 days duration. It starts and ends in Maun. Cost: US$1125.00/p (excluding flights). US$1690.00/p (fly in, fly out Maun) US$1405.00/p (drive-in, fly-out to Maun) US$2275.00/p (fly in Maun, fly out Kasane) CHOBE NATIONAL PARK The Chobe is perhaps the best known of Botswana s National Parks. This is no doubt because of its large elephant herds, diverse wildlife and great beauty. The Park is composed of four distinct sections Savuti, Linyanti, Nogatsaa and Serondella. Serondella is situated along the banks of the Chobe River, which is the international boundary between Namibia and Botswana. The Chobe River is connected to the Okavango in the west via the Kwando and Linyanti Rivers and directly to the Zambezi River in the East. Our safaris focus on the Serondella area, which boasts the largest elephant concentration in the world, phenomenal game viewing and is the closest area to Victoria Falls. Our Chobe module is of variable duration. It starts and ends in Victoria Falls. Cost: 2 Day 1 night US$225/person 3 Day 2 night US$320/person VICTORIA FALLS The Victoria Falls need no introduction. The collection of spectacular statistics and superlatives do no justice to this Natural Wonder of the World. The Victoria Falls can only be truly appreciated by being there, seeing, hearing, smelling and feeling them. The town of Victoria Falls is situated adjacent to the falls and is the perfect base from which to explore not only the Victoria Falls but also the many natural features and exciting activities in the area. The town is unique in being completely surrounded by National Park. The Zambezi National Park is one of the most beautiful of Zimbabwe s National Parks and is situated only minutes from the center of town. The mighty Zambezi runs along the edge of the town. Victoria Falls town is the ideal centre from which to make forays into the wilderness areas of Botswana and Zimbabwe. Baobab Safari operates both walking and canoeing safaris in the Zambezi National Park, which is situated immediately upstream of the Victoria Falls. This National Park boasts great ecological diversity, excellent walking safari opportunities and some of the most beautiful and exciting canoeing routes in the world. We will arrange any activities and make reservations for you in Victoria Falls. B&B rate: US$30/p sharing US$35/single Azambezi River Lodge: US$101/p sharing US$132/single Elephant Hills Hotel: US$164/p sharing US$295/single

WALKING SAFARIS IN HWANGE, KAZUMA & ZAMBEZI NATIONAL PARKS For many years Zimbabwe has been a leader in wildlife conservation and utilization. As a result the professional guides in this country are amongst the best qualified in the world. An extremely challenging training and examination system ensures that those who qualify are not only extremely knowledgeable about the bush but also entirely capable of ensuring the safety of their guests while on safari. Baobab Safari walks are always conducted by a licensed professional guide who is suitably armed. We use remote and private camp-sites with toilet facilities, hot shower and dining-room. Our chef ensures that guests also enjoy outstanding dining while in the comfort of our camps. Hwange National Park is Zimbabwe s best-known park. It s fame is due to its tremendous diversity and large numbers of wildlife and birdlife. It is situated only about 120km from Victoria Falls and is an excellent game viewing area. Zimbabwe is unique amongst southern African countries in allowing walking safaris, guided by highly skilled guides, in its National Parks. Hwange is one of the best destinations in Africa in which to participate in a walking safari. The attractions of Kazuma National Park are its remoteness, its tremendous ecological diversity, its excellent walking opportunities and the unique game species found there. Zambezi National Park, situated on the Upper Zambezi River is one of Zimbabwe s most beautiful National Parks offering beautiful walking and good game viewing. Its proximity to Victoria Falls makes it extremely convenient to visit. Our walking safaris are conducted in remote sections of these parks and our camps are private and secluded, ensuring privacy and wilderness. Recommended duration: three day two night Cost: US$165.00/p/d. Minimum 2 pax. WALKING SAFARIS OTHER NATIONAL PARKS Baobab Safari offers walking safaris to all of Zimbabwe s National Parks and we will tailor safaris to any park that guests wish to visit. Our walking safaris can be tailored to suit any time frame. We also offer multi-day mobile walking safaris, which allow guests to experience several of Zimbabwe s exceptional national parks. These customised trips will be quoted on request. CANOEING THE ZAMBEZI RIVER The Zambezi is the 3 rd largest river in Africa and certainly the wildest and most romantic. It has an intriguing geological history that has resulted in the fish ecology of the upper river being more closely related to that of the Limpopo River than to the Zambezi below the Victoria Falls. This great river forms the international boundary between many countries and is Zimbabwe s northern border. Almost the entire Zimbabwean bank of the river is wildlife preserve. Baobab Safari conducts canoeing safaris on the Upper Zambezi River. This is the section of the river above the Victoria Falls. Our canoeing safaris range in duration from short three-hour paddles in fibre-glass canoes with professional paddlers, to multi-day trips. For the longer trips we use inflatable two-person canoes, which are extremely stable and maneuverable. No prior canoeing experience is necessary for participation in any of our safaris. All of our canoeing safaris traverse the Zambezi National Park, so these are true wilderness experiences. The opportunities for game-viewing and bird-watching are excellent. On multi-day canoe safaris, our staff pre-erect your comfortable, private bush camp at idyllic locations on the banks of the Zambezi River. 2 day 1 night: US$ 240/person 3 day 2 night: US$380/person

MATUSADONA BY HOUSEBOAT Kariba Dam, the 3 rd largest man-made reservoir in the world measuring almost 300km in length, was created by damming the mighty Zambezi River at the Kariva Rapids. Today the dam is one of Zimbabwe s premier recreational areas. The dam provides excellent fishing opportunities and is fringed by wilderness areas. The southern shore includes the remote Matusadona National Park. Access to Matusadona by road is difficult and tedious so the park is not heavily utilized. It is however an exceptional park for game viewing, boasting the second highest lion concentration in Africa and some of the last free-roaming Black Rhino. Our safaris visit Matusadona by houseboat, which is essentially a floating private hotel. This gives you the opportunity to relax on deck with a drink, soaking-up the sun and tranquility or to go fishing or bird watching or game viewing by tender boat. Since the animals find quality grazing and adequate water on the lake-shore, the game viewing is spectacular. Suggested duration 4 days, 3 nights. Rack rate: US$720.00 /person (excluding flights). US$1100.00/person (including flights VFA KBA VFA OR VFA KBA HRE) SOME POPULAR SAFARIS: 1) Botswana & Zimbabwe Magic (13 days). Incorporating Okavango Delta, Moremi, Chobe, Victoria Falls, Canoeing the Zambezi River, Walking Safari in Hwange National Park. 2) Botswana & Zimbabwe s Finest (10 days) Incorporating Okavango Delta, Moremi, Chobe, Victoria Falls, Walking Safari in Hwange National Park 3) The Water Adventure (10 days) Incorporating Okavango Delta, Moremi, Chobe, Victoria Falls, Canoeing the Zambezi River. 4) The Paradise Safari (7 days) Incorporating Okavango Delta, Moremi, Chobe, Victoria Falls. 5) Chobe, Zambezi, Victoria Falls (7 days) Incorporating Chobe, Victoria Falls and Canoeing the Zambezi River. 6) The Botswana, Zimbabwe Wildlife Trail (7 days) Incorporating Chobe, Victoria Falls, Walking Safari in Hwange National Park. 7) The Victoria Falls Canoe Safari (4 days) Incorporating Victoria Falls and Canoeing the Zambezi River.
