TMS BETA Convention Camp & Induction Ceremony Saturday, August 29 th TMS Beta Convention Camp will be Saturday, Aug 29 th from 8am to 4pm. The Induction Ceremony for new members will begin at 4pm (doors open at 3:45 for parents & guest). We will be working on competition entries for State Convention and electing club officers for the 2015-16 school year. Camp Cost = $50 per person includes $25 convention payment, $10 school club fees, $10 for TMS Beta t-shirt, $5 for lunch/snacks. All monies submitted to Trexler are non-refundable after November 20, 2015.

Songfest Sing about Beta Club as a choir to a well-known tune State Officer Candidate- write and deliver a 1-2 minute campaign speech as you run for an NC Junior Beta office, can t participate in any other competitions ACADEMIC COMPETITIONS: 1-hour multiple choice test Book Battle, Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies, Quiz Bowl (covers all academic areas) Speech using the convention theme Let the Beta Times Roll write and deliver a 2 minute speech all about Beta Club Spelling Spelling Bee type competition Tower of Power As a team of 4 to 5 members, you will build a tower out of straws and tape that can hold a tennis ball on top for 30 seconds. Poster Competition Team of 4 Design a poster to a topic presented by the coordinator Poetry 1-hour to complete a poem on a topic presented by the coordinator Arts & Crafts Only 1 student can submit a project per school in the following categories Banner: using the convention them, Let the Beta times roll a team of 4 students will design and create a club banner. Spotlight Your Club using the convention them, Let the Beta Times Roll a team of 4 students will design and create a tri-fold scrapbook about our club. BETA SERVICE PRESENTATIONS 2 students would present on service project we participate in at our school. Living Literature group of 10 students will design and create a scene from a work of literature to create a wax-museum type display.
