Welcme! Welcme t Webels Wds. The gal f the weekend t is t prvide fun and infrmative activities, reinfrce scuting ideals and give the scuts a taste f camping, learning scutcraft and planning camputs. The event will start well in advance f the weekend with the Webels planning their trip, just like by scuts. As a by scut leader, yur jb will be t mentr them and allw them t use the skills they have gained t succeed, and in sme cases fail. It is difficult t watch scuts figure ut what they need t d t be successful. If we step back and dig dwn deep fr sme patience, the scuts will amaze us and themselves with what they can handle. In additin t enjying the weekend, they will find it very satisfying t lk back n what they were able t accmplish. Tw changes fr this year. GENERAL INFORMATION: Lcatin: Camp Barnhardt 42830 Cannn Rd. New Lndn, NC 28127 Date: December 9-11, 2016 Registratin: Payment: Check In: Pre-registratin is required and must be cmpleted using the cuncil nline registratin system. Deadline fr registratin and updates t existing registratins is December 2 th. Late registratin r updates can be made thrugh December 7 h, but subject t a late fee and patches and den cmbinatins may nt be available. All registratins must be paid nline. Yu may pay by PayPal, credit card r enter the accunt infrmatin frm yur check with n additinal fees. Make sure yu receive a cnfirmatin and receipt in e-mail t ensure yu cmpleted the prcess. Print yur ticket and bring it with yu t check-in. 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. n Friday, December 9 th - Early Check-in is nt allwed Yu will nt be able t access campsite prir t 5 pm. Packs with printed tickets with n changes t named participants can check in car side with n wait. Packs withut ticket r with any changes t participant names must check-in at the Lg Cabin. Yu must check-in as a grup and have medical frms ready fr review. Each unit s leaders will maintain pssessin f the medical frms; hwever, they will be verified during check-in. Parking: Garbage: Water: Bathrm: Only ne vehicle per unit twing trailers r carrying unit gear will be allwed in camp fr up t 30 minutes t discnnect the trailer r unlad gear and return t parking lt. Each patrl will have its wn plastic bags fr garbage. Each patrl is t take its garbage ut f camp as they are checked ut. Campsites will be inspected at the end f Webels Wds. The water will be ff in campsites, s each patrl shuld bring a water cntainer that can be filled at either the bathhuse. During the leaders meeting Friday night, Pack/Patrls will be asked t sign-up fr a scheduled time t clean the bathrm. Health Frms: Each yuth participant shuld be a registered scut with BSA. Each Unit (Pack r Trp) is required t have Annual Heath and Medical Recrds (Part A & B) fr every participant (Scuts and Adults). These frms shuld be in the pssessin f the registered leader and available fr inspectin at any time. Please have medical frms ready at check-in; we will be checking them this year. Adults and scuts wh d nt have a medical frm will nt be allwed in camp. Adults: Special Needs: All leaders/adults attending shuld have cmpleted Yuth Prtectin. Any scuts r adults with special needs shuld cntact the Webels Wds staff t ensure they can accmmdate yu needs. Fees/Cancellatins: $23 per Arrw f Light scut, $15 per Webels scut, and $7 per adult Once yu have registered fr an event we are cunting n yur attendance and we will be purchasing the needed items fr the event. Due t this fact we cannt refund event and activities fees fr any reasn. Medical Emergencies: Minr first aid may be taken cvered n site in each unit. NO campfires are allwed. We may have a fire fr the ceremny Saturday night at the pavilin as a fire in a fireplace with a flue is allwed. When d we register? All Registratin shuld be cmpleted nline befre December 2, 2016. What if nly 1 r 2 Webels are cming frm my Pack? Even ne Webels is fine! Yur Webels will be paired up with anther 1-8 Webels frm ther packs t frm a Patrl fr the weekend. Can my Webels cme fr just the day (Saturday)? Yes he can, but an Adult leader(s) must als attend. N Webels can be drpped ff at Camp Barnhardt withut an Adult Leader. (If the leader is nt the scut s parent r guardian, tw leaders shuld attend.) The fee listed nline still applies. Bring yur ticket (printed frm registratin receipt) and be at Mntgmery Circle at 8am t check-in and receive yur rtatin assignment. Hw much des it cst? This year it will cst $23 per Arrw f Light scut, $15 per Webels scut, and $7 per adult. Each Arrw f Light scut with a neckerchief and each participant a patch fr the event and all the supplies fr all f the events. Are the Campsites assigned? YES, yu will receive yur final campsite assignment at Check-In. Are campfires allwed? Yes, prvided there is nt a fire ban in place (SEE ABOVE). All campfire materials MUST be brught in r be frm fallen trees. N fires will be ut f fire rings r unattended. Can scut(s) arrive separately? Patrls travel tgether. As such, please arrange fr all f yur Webels t arrive tgether. Check-In will be cnducted by Pack, s if yu travel separately, please be prepared t meet in the parking lt and check-in when yur entire grup is tgether. This is fr the safety f the scut! What activity pins will be earned? Webels Wds is a campree style event and event statins are prvided t allw Webels t learn and have fun, but will nt cver activity pin requirements. Planning Webels Scuts shuld be actively invlved in the planning fr a successful trip. Templates are prvided in this guide that can be used t plan menus, shpping lists, duty rsters, and transprtatin. Dens r individuals registered with less than fur scuts will be cmbined. The cmbinatin will be cmmunicated by December5 th t allw yu t crdinate menus and respnsibilities. T help it is strngly encuraged that yu reach ut t ptential bridging Trps and invite a Scutmaster/Assistant Scutmaster t participate in the planning and if pssible t even attend with yur den. Yu may als want t cnsider if yu can use Trp equipment (tents, patrl bxes, etc). All campsites will have a least ne Assistant Scutmaster/Scutmaster/SPL/Den Chief assigned t help with any questins regarding planning r during the event. Yu shuld receive cmmunicatin n December 5 th with the cntact infrmatin f this assignment. Allw the scuts t plan their wn menu. It desn t need t be cmplex, but yu may want t cnsider challenging them t d smething mre than cereal r pp tarts. Encurage them t learn abut each ther s likes and dislikes t help them bnd as a patrl and cme up with a menu that they will all enjy. Learning t plan and eat meals tgether can help develp patrl bnds. Allw the scuts t figure ut their wn shpping list, quantities and t d their wn shpping. Cnsider whether the item(s) they frget will cause significant discmfrt r a learning experience that later will be reflected n as the time they vercame.
