SAR was stood down pending further investigation.. 2 2 Vernon SAR members responded to investigate a sailboat adrift with unknown persons on board near the Paddle Wheel Park in Vernon. SAR was stood down after the vessel sunk. NEA LAND 17 17 Quesnel SAR members responded and conducted an extensive shoreline search after new information was provided by the RCMP. All areas of interest were searched with negative results and SAR was stood down pending further information. LAND 1 8 1 8 Kamloops SAR members responded to rescue an injured dirt biker at Roche Lake Provincial Park. BCAS were able to reach the patient without assistance and SAR was stood down. SWE 5 5 Chilliwack SAR members responded to search a vehicle that was abandoned on a sandbar in the Fraser River near Old Orchard Road. SAR was stood down by police when they found three tires and some wire burning. SEA LAND 1 3 1 3 Arrow Lakes SAR members responded to rescue a person who had sustained a serious eye injury from a bear banger near Evans Beach in the Slocan area. SAR was stood down after BCAS were able to access and treat the patient without assistance. 3 7 3 7 Vernon SAR members responded to rescue 3 stranded boaters on Kalamalka Lake. The subjects were rescued by a passing boater and SAR was stood down. VIR LAND 1 10 1 8 Campbell River and 2 Comox Valley SAR members responded to search for a diabetic male who was 4 hours overdue from a hike on Nootka Island. The SAR members were stood down after the subject returned to camp on his own. SWE 2 6 2 6 Ridge Meadows SAR members responded to search for two overdue fishermen in the area of the Golden Ears Boat Launch on Alouette Lake. The SAR team located the boat which had a disabled motor and rescued both subjects. VIR LAND 1 1 1 1 Nanaimo SAR member was stood down prior to mustering a team to search for a missing elderly male in the Dunbar Road area of Nanaimo. The subject was located in good condition by police. SWE LAND 1 4 1 4 Pemberton SAR members responded to rescue an 18 year old male that had fallen and was reported to be injured near 1 Mile Lake south of Pemberton. The Fire Department had assisted the

SAR was stood down after a search of the lake failed to locate anyone in need of assistance. SWE LAND 1 6 1 6 Hope SAR were stood down prior to responding to rescue an injured male 50 feet down an embankment in the Nickel Mine Road area of Yale. The subject was assisted by bystanders and taken to BCAS for treatment and transport. SWE LAND 1 12 1 12 Squamish SAR members responded to an injured 35 year old female on the Cliffs Corner Bike Trail in the Alice Lake area. The patient was successfully evacuated from the area and delivered to a waiting BCAS crew SWE LAND 1 7 1 7 North Shore Rescue members responded to search for a missing hiker reported to be somewhere between Mt Seymour and Elsay Lake. The subject was located in good condition and walked down the trail by SAR members. VIR LAND 1 8 1 8 Campbell River SAR members responded with their HETS team to assist Parks Canada with the rescue of a 16 year old boy that was trapped 30 meters up a cliff near Tsusiat Falls on the West Coast Trail near Port Renfrew. Ths subject was picked up by HETS team and brought out and turned over to Parks Canada Staff. SWE LAND 1 6 1 6 Whistler SAR members responded to rescue an injured female in the Daisy Lake area of the Garibaldi Lake Trail in Whistler. SAR members arrived on scene and the subject refused assistance when she was told that she would be transported to hospital and not her vehicle as she requested. SEA LAND 1 2 1 2 Revelstoke SAR members responded to rescue a lost hiker on Mount Begbie near Revelstoke. The SAR Mgr was in contact with the subject who confirmed that he was on the right trail and he walked out on his own. SWE 1 1 Nicola Valley SAR member along with a convergent volunteer responded to reports of a fisherman in distress in Nicola Lake in Monck Provincial Park. SAR was stood down they were unable to locate anyone. 5 11 5 11 Kent Harrison SAR members were stood down while responding to rescue 4 adults and one child in a drifting boat on Harrison Lake. Subjects were rescued by a passing boat. LAND 1 11 1 11 Vernon SAR members responded to rescue an injured mountain biker in Ellison Provincial Park in Vernon. The patient was rescued and transferred over to BCAS. VIR LAND 4 4 4 4 Campbell River SAR members responded to a spot beacon activation in Strathcona Park between

RCMP requested the assistance of 442 Squadron who went in and winched the party of four out of the area. LAND 1 3 1 3 Wells Grey SAR members responded to search for an overdue hiker near Helmcken Falls in Clearwater. The subject was located and returned to his accommodations. VIR LAND 1 16 1 16 Campbell River SAR members responded to search for a missing camper in the Morton Lake area. Subject was located and handed over to the RCMP. SEA LAND 1 13 1 4 South Columbia, 4 Castlegar SAR and 4 PEP Air members responded to search for a missing male between Fruitvale and Salmo. The male was located in good condition and handed over to the RCMP SEA 8 8 Golden SAR members responded to search for an overturned boat on the Kicking Horse River in Golden. The SAR team conducted an aerial search of the river and located the boat down stream. The boat appeared to have been abandoned and the SAR team was stood down. SEA LAND 1 26 1 26 Castlegar SAR, Grand Forks SAR, Rossland SAR and South Columbia SAR members responded to search for a missing motorist somewhere in the Castlegar area. After two days of searching with no results, the SAR teams were stood down. NEA LAND 1 6 1 6 North Peace SAR members responded to a request from Yukon EMO request to search the Watson Lake area for a missing 64 year old woman with health issues. The SAR team was stood down prior to leaving after the subject was located alive and well. VIR LAND 1 15 1 15 Cowichan Valley SAR members responded to search for a missing 23 year old male (cognitive ability of a 14 year old), in the Riverbottom Road area of Duncan. The subject was picked up along the highway and transferred to the RCMP. SEA LAND 1 2 1 2 Sparwood SAR members responded to rescue an injured quadder in the Brule Creek area north of Sparwood. The patient was retrieved by a BCAS crew and the SAR team was stood down.. 1 4 1 4 Shuswap Rescue 1 members responded to rescue an injured male from the area of Hungry Cove on Shuswap Lake. The patient was located, assisted and then transferred to BCAS for further treatment and transport to hospital. LAND 2 4 2 4 Wells Grey SAR members responded to rescue two hikers that reported they were lost somewhere in the Trophy Meadow Campground area of Clearwater. The hikers were located, escorted out of the area and transferred to RCMP. VIR LAND 1 20 1 20 Comox Valley SAR members responded to rescue an injured 50 year old female who had fallen

The team packaged and transported the patient to a waiting BCAS crew for transport to the hospital. SEA LAND 1 4 1 4 Fernie SAR members responded to rescue an injured ATV rider in the Baynes Lake area. The SAR team was stood down when BCAS were able to access the patient for transport to hospital. VIR LAND 2 9 2 9 Nanaimo SAR members responded to a RCMP request to search for two overdue 16 year olds in the Mt Benson area near Nanaimo. The SAR team was stood down while mustering after the teens walked out on their own. SWE LAND 1 14 1 14 Kent Harrison SAR members were called out to search for an 8 year old reported missing in the Harrison Hot Springs area. The team was stood down by police while en route after the child was located alive and well at home. SWE LAND 2 8 2 8 Hope SAR members responded to search for two lost hikers on Yak Peak near the Coquihalla Summit Recreation Area. The hikers were found alive and healthy and escorted safely out of the area. SWE LAND 1 45 1 29 Kent Harrison SAR, 5 Central Fraser Valley, 2 Mission and 9 Chilliwack SAR members responded to search for a lost male on the Chehalis Forest Service Road. After an extensive search over several days SAR members located items belonging to the subject however were unable to find the male. SAR was stood down by police pending new information becoming available. SWE LAND 1 4 1 4 Kent Harrison SAR members were stood down while responding to rescue an elderly patient in need of medical attention on the Harrison River. The patient was assisted by a private boat and the SAR team was stood down. VIR LAND 1 26 1 23 Comox Valley and 3 Campbell River SAR members responded to assist with 2 beacons (Spot Beacon and Inreach Beacon) that were triggered on Mount Albert Edward near Courtenay. SAR personnel responded to the scene with 2 helicopters. The Campbell River HETS team rescued an injured climber and delivered her to the 2nd waiting helicopter where she was packaged and flown out to a waiting BCAS crew for transport to hospital. SWE LAND 1 5 1 5 Pemberton SAR members responded to rescue an injured hiker in the Face Mt. area of Pemberton. The patient was picked up and flown by helicopter to Pemberton where she was transferred to BCAS. SWE LAND 1 5 1 5 Coquitlam SAR members responded to search for a missing 90 year old male with Alzheimer's in the Folsom Road area of Coquitlam. Subject was located in good condition by police and SAR was stood down. 02 17:06 SWE 1 20 1 20 Chilliwack SAR members responded to rescue a

BCAS was able to reache the subject unassisted and SAR was stood down. SEA 2 4 2 4 Arrow Lakes SAR members responded to investigate reports of possibly two boaters in distress on Arrow Lakes near Nakusp. The SAR team located a father and son who were in a broken down boat and towed them back to their starting point. SWE LAND 5 8 5 8 North Shore Rescue members responded to rescue 5 lost hikers on the Goat Mountain Trail on Grouse Mountain. The subjects were located in good condition and escorted off of the mountain. 1 4 1 4 Shuswap Rescue 1 members responded to rescue a 34 year old male reported to be suffering cardiac arrest on a houseboat on Shuswap Lake. Subject was pronounced deceased and transported out with BC Coroner Service. SWE LAND 3 13 3 13 Sunshine Coast SAR members responded to search for a missing father and two daughters on Gambier Island. The SAR team was stood down after the subjects were contacted and advised that they were safe and walking themselves out. SWE LAND 1 12 1 12 Squamish SAR members responded to rescue an injured hiker on the Sea to Summit hiking trail. The patient was located, picked up and flown out to BCAS for treatment and transport. 1 10 1 10 Vernon SAR members responded to rescue a kayaker in distress on Swan Lake. WEEKLY INCIDENT REPORT 27 JUN to 03 Jul 2016 BODY RECOVERY On 27 Jun 16 Central Okanagan and Penticton SAR members responded to recover a body in Myra Canyon. The body was recovered and turned over to the Coroner. FLOOD On 30 Jun 16, the community of Chetwynd activated their EOC to level 1 to provide sandbags and assistance to property owners after a heavy rainfall caused Windham and Centurion Creeks to overflow their banks. INTERFACE FIRE On 29 Jun 16, an interface fire (V70156) threatened to impact four homes on Doole Road in Ladysmith. On 03 July 16, a fire in Burns Bog, Delta resulted in the closure of Highway 17. The District of Delta activated their EOC and declared a State of Local Emergency due to the fire spreading across Highway 17 and posing a threat to structures in the Tilbury Industrial area. BC Wildfire Service assisted the Fire Departments with fire suppression resources. MISCELLANEOUS On 27 Jun 16 ESS assistance was provided to a family of four in Vernon for one night after they had to leave their home due to a police incident. On 30 Jun 16 Taylor Hwy Rescue responded for a Medical Assist to rescue a person in a vehicle experiencing a heart attack. On 30 Jun 16 Terrace Fire Rescue members responded to rescue a man that was pinned under a tree on his tractor.
