FUTURE TRENDS Sport & Recreation / Entertainment & Social Activities Rise in popularity of mass-participation events of all kinds. A move away from traditional membership models to more flexible pay to play models. Entertainment events targeting cross passions of consumers are becoming more common (ie music, food, wine, arts, culture) to offer a unique and varied experience. Integration of allied health services with sports facilities. Rise in 24/7 gyms and group fitness activities to cater for people s increasingly time poor lives.
MOORE DIRECTIONS 2040 Planning for its future Moore Park is loved because it is the place where sporting elite are breaking records while the under 8s are playing their first competitive game. It has grown and adapted to a changing world, while keeping its unique characteristics alive - its history and natural environment. In the lead-up to the 150th anniversary of Moore Park, Centennial and Moore Park Trust is now planning for its future. The Trust is setting a framework for how Moore Park will continue to balance and accommodate everyone, remaining Sydney s most popular and loved active and green space. This framework will set the future direction for the park to 2040, establishing a blueprint to once again adapt to the pressures from an increased population and changing recreational trends.
