May 2009 May 21 -- SFPUC held informational open house on the San Francisco Groundwater Project. Topics included project information and architectural renderings of proposed facilities. Staff included Project Manager and Project Architect. Open House attended by 15 neighbors and stakeholders. Follow up with stakeholders was conducted on a one-on-one basis by SFPUC staff. Calendar announcements for Groundwater Open House published in the May 2009 editions of the Sunset Beacon and Richmond Review Mailer announcing Open House sent to about 300 residents and members of Board of Supervisors; announcement sent to many stakeholders including neighborhood organizations, advocacy groups, schools, and libraries. Feature on SF Groundwater Project included in annual 2009 Water Quality Report, mailed to all City addresses, including account holders and all other consumers..

September 2009 September 26 SFPUC participated in Sunset Community Festival. Display featured San Francisco Groundwater Supply Project, architectural renderings of proposed well facilities in Sunset District, and tasting of blended water that the Project proposes to serve Mailer announcing the Sunset Community Festival display sent and/or e-mailed to 300 neighbors of proposed well sites, additional 300 stakeholder groups and individuals, and Board of Supervisors October 2009 October 16 SFPUC staff made informational presentation on the San Francisco Groundwater Supply Project to the Recreation and Park Commission October 19 SFPUC and DPW staff made Phase 1: Schematic Design Review presentation of the proposed South Sunset and West Sunset well facilities to the Civic Design Review Committee of the San Francisco Arts Commission. The Committee approved the Phase 1 schematic designs. November 2009 November 16 Local Water Supply Open House held at Golden Gate Park Senior Center, featuring displays and information on all proposed local water supply projects and tasting of blended water that the San Francisco Groundwater Supply Project proposes to serve. Project staff and SFPUC Senior Management attended and answered questions. Full-page ad announcing November 16 Local Water Supply Open House published in the November issues of the Sunset Beacon, Richmond Review and West Portal Monthly Mailer announcing Open House sent to all stakeholder groups and individuals currently listed by SFPUC and Recreation and Park Department, attendees at September 2009 Sunset Community Festival, SF Board of Supervisors, and Mayor s Office of Neighborhood Services December 2009 Local Water Supply Program was feature story in the Richmond Review December 30 Planning Department sent Notice of Preparation of Environmental Review Document (NOP) to stakeholder groups and individuals, including a notice that a CEQA scoping meeting would be held on January 20, 2010. The NOP mailing list included approximately 3,700 contacts. January 2010 Quarter-page ad announcing upcoming Open House and CEQA Scoping Meeting placed in the Sunset Beacon and Richmond Review Mailer announcing Open House/Scoping Meeting sent to stakeholders (including Recreation and Park Department s stakeholder list), neighbors and interested parties total 2,900 pieces

January 13 Press release/psa sent to Chinese media announcing Open House / Scoping Meeting January 20 SFPUC hosted Open House and Planning Department hosted CEQA Scoping Meeting at Golden Gate Park Senior Center Fact sheet on San Francisco Groundwater Supply Project available at Open House in Chinese and English January 30 SFPUC hosted two neighborhood coffees (at South Sunset Playground and West Sunset Playground) to provide information on San Francisco Groundwater Supply Project and get feedback on architectural designs of proposed well facilities at these playgrounds. Outreach was done through bilingual mailers and announcements. February 2010 February 8 SFPUC and DPW staff made Phase 2: Design Development Review presentation of the proposed Lake Merced, South Sunset, and West Sunset well facilities to the Civic Design Review Committee of the San Francisco Arts Commission. The Committee approved the Phase 2 designs. September 2010 September 7 Open House held at Golden Gate Park Senior Center, featuring including displays and information on San Francisco Groundwater Supply Project. Proposed Central Pump Station well facility shown on San Francisco Groundwater Supply Project displays and fact sheet. November 2010 November 15 SFPUC and DPW staff made Phase 1: Schematic Design Review presentation of the proposed North Lake and Central Pump Station well facilities in Golden Gate Park to the Civic Design Review Committee of the San Francisco Arts Commission. The Committee requested revisions to the schematic designs, which they would consider in a combined presentation of Phases 1 and 2. February 2011 February 14 SFPUC and DPW staff made combined Phase 1: Schematic Design Review / Phase 2: Design Development Review presentation of the proposed North Lake and Central Pump Station well facilities in Golden Gate Park to the Civic Design Review Committee of the San Francisco Arts Commission. The Committee approved the combined Phase 1 / Phase 2 designs. February 15 Community notice sent directly to all affected neighbors, plus district Supervisor and aides, informing them of plan to change the pipeline alignment from 40 th Avenue, between Vicente and Quintara streets, to 41 st Avenue between the same streets San Francisco Groundwater Project Outreach--3

March 2011 March 2 Revised Notice of Preparation of Environmental Review Document sent by the Planning Department to stakeholder groups, to identify certain changes in the project description since the original NOP was issued in 2009. Announcements of the Revised Notice of Preparation also ran in the Sunset Beacon and Richmond Review. March 2012 March 12 SFPUC staff held an initial meeting with representatives of interested neighborhood groups and Golden Gate Park stakeholders regarding the San Francisco Groundwater Supply Project and, in particular, the location and design of the three proposed well facilities in Golden Gate Park. March 2013 March 13 Planning Department published the Draft Environmental Impact Report (DEIR) for the San Francisco Groundwater Supply Project. The EIR Notice of Availability, including a notice that a public hearing would be held on April 18, was mailed to more than 6,300 organizations and individuals. The notice recipients included the owners and occupants of all properties within 300 feet of the parcels on which the project would be located, including the six proposed well facilities and pipeline routes. The public comment period on the DEIR extended from March 13 to April 27 April 2013 April 16 SFPUC staff made presentation on San Francisco Groundwater Supply Project at the regular monthly meeting of the Coalition for San Francisco Neighborhoods April 18 Planning Commission held a public hearing on the DEIR to hear public comments. Feature story on the San Francisco Groundwater Supply Project in the April 2013 edition of the Richmond Review. Story also was carried in the Sunset Beacon. April 21 Story on the San Francisco Groundwater Supply Project was carried in the San Francisco Examiner April 23 Story on the San Francisco Groundwater Supply Project was carried in the Sing Tao Daily May 2013 May 20 SFPUC staff made presentation on San Francisco Groundwater Supply Project at the annual general membership meeting of the Sunset-Parkside Education and Action Committee (SPEAK) October 2013 October 30 Planning Department published the Responses to Comments document for the San Francisco Groundwater Supply Project December 2013 December 19 Planning Commission certified the Final Environmental Impact Report for the San Francisco Groundwater Supply Project, which is comprised of the DEIR and the Responses to Comments document.
