Design and impact on visual amenity - The proposed building would be incidental to the main school building and would provide much needed flexible learning space for the school. The detached building would be cedar cladded and would be situated to the southern boundary, which is heavily screened by trees and hedges. In terms of design and materials, the proposed building would fit well with its surroundings. Being located behind substantial planting, the building would be unlikely to be visible from the public realm. Consequently, I consider that the proposal is unlikely to have any adverse impact on the visual amenity of the surrounding area or the school itself. 6.3. Impacts on highway safety and residential amenity the proposed building would be installed within the school grounds and would not compromise parking provision or vehicle circulation within the site or pedestrian footway within the adjoining public park. Transportation Development and Regulatory Services have raised no objections to the proposal. 7. Conclusion Page 2 of 5
