More Packing Tips Some classes are taught on the beach and boardwalk, so a windbreaker, sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, and layered clothing can be useful; students will likely get sandy, but not wet. Some classes will be held in the maritime forest, and bug repellant and long sleeves can be useful. One class is taught in the marsh and another in a freshwater slough; marsh boots are available to borrow, but if you have some, bring them; students could get a bit muddy. Some classes walk through dirty areas; shoes that can get dirty or wet are a good idea. We will walk on the beach at night; be prepared for changes in temperature; layers are important in November. Pack extra clothes in case your child s clothes get wet or muddy. Average temperatures in November are highs around 70 and lows around 50 degrees. Of course, check the forecast the weekend before the trip! Classes go forward rain or shine. Rain jackets or ponchos are a good idea.
