WELCOME TO SUMMER CAMP 2018! How to Register for Camp! Registration Opens March 1st at 9:00am! Camp registration is a very simple process. New Campers: 1. Fill out Camper Registration Form and HRC Waiver in person. These forms are available for download from our website 2. Make Payment Past Camper (2017 only): 1. In person or call in to register. You will be required to confirm information on file is up to date and accurate 2. Make Payment And now you are good to go! You will receive a weekly itinerary and newsletter by email closer to camp. Please ensure we have the most up to date email address on file. Summer Camp Hours: Regular Hours: Monday Friday 9am 4pm Extended Care Available!* Full Week: Morning Session: 7:30am 9:00am Fee: $30.00 Full Week: Afternoon Session: 4:00pm 5:30pm Fee: $30.00 *Advanced registration required. Late Pick-up: Please note that children must be picked up at 4:00pm. A Late Fee of $5.00 for each 15 minute interval after 4:00pm will be charged. Camper Shirts: Each camper will receive an HRC Camper Shirt on their first day of camp. Campers are not required to wear them to camp although we do love seeing them in action! CAMPS FOR KIDS AGES 4-6 Kinder Camp (Ages 4-6): Children must be 4 years of age on the first day attending camp. There is something for everyone in our Kinder Camps! These camps include active games, themed activities, arts & crafts and Tiny Tennis. Other activities may include music & movement, hand-eye coordination and agility games. Each day we will be sure to have a tiny bit of quiet time in the afternoon because after all, camp can be tiring! 1 Week: Member: $220.00 Non Member: $259.00 *Wizards & Wands: August 7-10 Member: $176.00 Non Member: $207.00 Please note: To receive the member price, the child needs to be an active member CAMP X July 9 13, August 20 24 X is for X-Cellent Camp! Each day will be themed and focused on art, science, traditional camp activities & X-Tra Fun! July 30 Aug 3 Ahoy Mateys! Climb aboard and join us for a week searching for treasure, scallywagging and other pirate adventures. Arr! July 16 20, August 27 31 Dinosaurs still exist at HRC! Join us for an expedition dig and discover different dinosaurs, fossils and footprints. Roar! August 7 10 Zip, Zap, Zoom! Join fellow wizards at HRC and learn magic tricks, search for dragons eggs and participate in a tri-wizard tournament! July 23 27 Let s splish, splash & splosh our way to the ocean! In this camp we will go deep sea searching for all kinds of critters who can be found in water. August 13 17 Lions and Tigers and Polar Bears?! Join our safari team and discover different animals and creatures from the depths of the jungle to the tundra. *plus applicable tax. 2.

CAMPS FOR KIDS AGES 7-11 (Ages 7 & 8, 9-11): Come out to our Velocity Sports Camp and experience a whole week of sports. Each day there will be a focus on specific sports with additional games and activities. Some of the sports will include: Basketball, Tennis, Soccer, Squash, Badminton, Ultimate Frisbee and Table Tennis. Campers will be on court with our Pros three days a week. July 9-July 13 August 27-August 31 Member: $220.00 Non Member: $259.00 August 7-August 10 Member: $176.00 Non Member: $207.00 (Ages 7 & 8, 9-11): Want to learn to play tennis? This is a tennis based camp where campers will participate in two hours of tennis lessons on court with our Pros (one hour in the mornings and an hour in the afternoons). Using modified tennis equipment campers will be playing tennis in no time! Other activities may include: ultimate challenges, active games, outdoor activities & more! July 16-July 20 August 13-August 17 Member: $245.00 Non Member: $284.00 (Ages 7 & 8, 9-11): Sign up for our Rockin Racquets Camp and see what HRC is all about! This camp is based on racquet sports including: Table Tennis, Badminton, Tennis and Squash. Campers will participate in Squash and Tennis daily and will have instruction with our Pros three days a week. This camp will also include active games, round robins and racquet challenges. No racquet experience is required, so come on out and have a smashing good time! July 23-July 27 August 20-August 24 Member: $220.00 Non Member: $259.00 (Ages 7 & 8, 9-11): Our Super Squashers Camp will give your camper an opportunity to learn the sport of squash and practice daily. Each day campers will participate in two hours of squash lessons on court with our Pros (one hour in the morning and an hour in the afternoon). Other activities may include: active games, team challenges, scavenger hunts, orienteering & more! July 30-August 3 Member: $245.00 Non Member: $284.00 (Ages 7-9): X-Cellent Fun & X-Travagent Arts! HRC values the importance of camp arts & crafts and getting a healthy dose of exercise, so we have created Camp-X. Is your child curious like a cat? Or often asks the question why? If so, this is the right camp for your child! This camp has daily themes focused on science, art, drama, indoor camp fire activities and cooperative games. Campers will also get to experience light exercise on the tennis courts using modified equipment and a strong focus on fun. July 30-August 3 Member: $220.00 Non Member: $259.00 3. *plus applicable tax.

PRE-TEEN & SPECIALTY CAMPS Half Day Specialized Camps: Monday-Friday: 9:30am 12:30pm 3 hours of tennis training. Includes: Warm-up focusing on tennis specific footwork and agility drills, as well as overall fitness Technical drills for stroke improvement Tactical drills for improved game playing skills Individual feedback, including video review Singles and doubles games with an instructor review of strategy Groups will be determined by playing ability. To ensure your junior is signed up in the tennis camp that best suits their ability please contact Miran Cehajic Head of Junior Development at miran@headwatersracquetclub.com Academy/Select Camp (Ages 11+): This camp is designed for players who have some tennis experience on a full court using a regular ball, as well as players who are intermediate/advanced with a green dot or regular ball. Intermediate/advanced players should be familiar with the rules of the game and/or have some tournament experience. July 9-July 13 Member: $225.00 Non Member: $255.00 Green Dot Select Camp (Ages 8-11): This camp is designed for players who have experience playing on a full tennis court using a green dot or regular ball. Players should be able to maintain a 5+ ball rally on the full court using forehands and backhands. Players should have experience with point play and an understanding of the rules of the game. Looking for a fun, rewarding and exciting way to volunteer your services? Apply to be an HRC Camp Volunteer today! Volunteers are a key part of HRC s day camp programs. Together with Camp Counselors, Pros and Trainers you will help to ensure campers have a safe and fun experience in all of our programs. Volunteers will be provided with a day of training before the camp season starts. Do you know someone who is interested in volunteering? An application process is involved in becoming a volunteer. LET S GET TO THE FUN STUFF! Camp Snacks & Lunches: All Snacks and Lunches are included! That s right, all you parents/guardians get to take a break from the chore of making lunches daily. Each day consists of two snacks and lunch. Lunch is provided by: Our Camps are Nut Aware! Sample Menu: Monday: Beef Sliders, Veggie Sticks & Dip & Dessert Tuesday: Pancakes, Sausage & Fruit Wednesday: Grilled Cheese, Caesar Salad & Cookies Thursday: Chicken Fingers, Fries, Veggie Sticks & Dessert Friday: Pizza, Veggie Sticks & Dessert Vegetarian & Gluten Free Options are available! These options must be noted on the camper registration form. Please note no other options or alternatives are available. What to Bring to Camp: Indoor Shoes with non-marking soles (these shoes help protect our courts & floor) Outdoor shoes Labelled water bottle Hat (this is very important!) Sunscreen Kinder Campers should pack a full change of clothes On Friday please make sure to pack a bathing suit, towel and a pair of shoes that can get wet (ex. water shoes or sandals). But don t worry, we will remind you about this. We ask that you do not send your camper with personal valuables or cash as campers are not able to make purchases at the juice bar during camp hours. Thank-you! Water Fun Fridays: Friday is one of our favourite days of the week at camp. All camps will get to participate in outdoor water activities. HRC s activities include: slip & slide, kiddie pool with fishing activities, pudding drop & more. 5.

POLICIES & GUIDELINES Camp Cancellation Policy: Cancellation requests must be made at least 10 business days before the start date of your child s camp. All cancellations are subject to a 15% administration fee per camp and per child cancelled. If you wish to cancel your child s camp within 10 business days of the camp s start date, you will be charged 50% of the total fee. There are no refunds for cancellations requested after the start date of your child s camp. Camp transfer requests must be made at least 5 business days before the start date of your child s camp. Requests will be considered based on availability within the requested camps. There is an administration fee of $25.00 per camp/per child for each transfer. Drop Off & Pick-Up: Each day a camp staff member will greet campers and parents upon drop off and pick up. Parents are required to sign-in and sign-out their child/children with an initial. To ensure the safety of all campers only adults authorized on the camper registration form may pick up campers. Please provide written notice clearly documenting the alternative authorized guardian/caregiver prior to pick-up. Children must 14 years of age and older to be considered a caregiver. Participant Guidelines: Providing safe and quality programming is important to us. Our ratios are the following: Ages HRC Camp Leader 4 6 1 Leader to 8 Campers 7 & 8 1 Leader to 12 Campers 9 11 1 Leader to 12 Campers Can I request my child be placed in a different age group? Each of our age groups are carefully planned and developed with age appropriate activities. Each camper will experience active programming, calmer activities and free time daily. Please enroll your child in the camp according to what age they will be on the first day of camp program. 6.

HEALTH, SAFETY & CONDUCT Health & Safety: Safety is our number one priority! The more information we know about your child the better prepared we are. Please make sure to note any medical concerns or special needs on the camper registration form. Medication Campers who require medication during camp must have a Medication Form filled out. Please send all medications in the original package or container and please only send one day s dosage daily. Site inspections Our camp staff inspect all equipment and sites first thing in the morning to ensure all equipment is safe and sites are clean and ready for the day. Allergy Awareness Please notify us on the camper registration form should your child have any allergies. Our day camps are nut-aware. If your child requires an Epi-pen please ensure that staff is notified. Sunscreen The sun can get very hot and cause harm to your child s health. Please be sure to send sunscreen and show your child how to apply it. Participant Code of Conduct: We ask that all campers follow our Participant Code of Conduct. Failure to comply with this will result in removal from programming. As a participant I pledge that: I will care for myself, for others around me, and our environment. I will accept others and allow each participant equal opportunity. I will be responsible for my own actions, attitudes, and behaviours. I will participate in activities in a positive manner and be responsible for program equipment. I will respect all other peers and HRC programming staff. I will come prepared and wear athletic clothing and shoes with non-marking soles. 7.
