Gran Trail Aneto-Posets.105 km / 6 760 m+ 40.7 km of the course at an altitude above 2000 m / 10.1 km of paved roads 20.8 km of tracks / 57.9 km of footpaths / 16.2 km off-trail The Gran Trail Aneto-Posets covers all manner of terrain, from tracks and footpaths to snowfields and blockfields that surround the highest peaks in the Pyrenees: Aneto (3404 m) and Posets (3375 m). It is a spectacular race which takes place under conditions of semi self-sufficiency, joining these two mountainous massifs together to comprise a boundless route. The Gran Trail starts off from the village of Benasque with a lap around Aneto heading towards La Renclusa refuge to then head off up the Barrancs valley, climb to the Salenques mountain pass (2797 m) and from there towards the Vallibierna valley. After passing through Benasque once again, the climb up to Cerler begins, from where the route drops down to the picturesque village of Anciles and on to Eriste before starting the lap around the Posets massif. This section includes the highest point of the race, Forqueta mountain pass at 2900 m. From this point, the course takes runners down to the Biadós refuge following the GR11 leading to the Estós refuge before returning to Benasque to end the race. Vuelta al Aneto. 55 km / 3 630 m+ 27.5 km of the course at an altitude above 2000 m / 6.1 km of paved roads 8.8 km of tracks / 24.2 km of footpaths / 15.9 km off-trail The Vuelta al Aneto takes place over all manner of terrain, from tracks and footpaths to snowfields and blockfields surrounding the Maladeta massif, crowning off at the peak of Aneto (3404 m). This amazing course starts in the village of Benasque to head off towards La Renclusa refuge. After visiting the impressive Forau d Aigualluts, it then follows the Barrancs valley and crosses high mountain passes such as Salenques (2797 m) before returning to Benasque through the Vallbierna valley, having circled an endless number of mountain lakes and other high-mountain landscapes of the Pyrenees. Maratón de las Tucas. 42 km / 2 500 m+ 8.5 km of the course at an altitude above 2000 m / 3.4 km of paved roads 13.3 km of tracks / 25.4 km of footpaths The Maratón de las Tucas joins the Estós and Ángel Orús refuges over a number of tracks and footpaths surrounding the famous Tucas de Ixeia (2840 m), in the heart of the beautiful Pyrenees. Starting off in the village of Benasque, the course follows the GR11 upwards to the Estós refuge, from where it continues around the spectacular Batisielles mountain lakes before peaking out over the Plana mountain pass (2708 m) and reaching the next checkpoint located in the Ángel Orús refuge. From there the route takes us down into the Eriste/Grist valley in view of the imposing Espigantosa waterfall and then heads off towards Benasque again passing through the villages of Eriste, Anciles and Cerler. 2

Vuelta al Pico Cerler. 25,5 km / 1 250 m+ 3.3 km of the course at an altitude above 2000 m / 3.9 km of paved roads 12 km of tracks / 6.7 km of footpaths / 2.8 km off-trail This half marathon Vuelta al Pico Cerler takes place on tracks and footpaths joining Benasque and other villages and nearby areas, taking Cerler peak as the reference point as one of the best places to go Alpine skiing in the Pyrenees. From the start line in the village of Benasque, the race sets off towards the Linsoles residential complex on the banks of the River Ésera to arrive at the picturesque village of Anciles, before heading off up the footpath waymarked with PR-HU 33, towards Cerler. From there, the course takes you around the Cerler peak towards Ampriu where you then cross the Aramón-Cerler facilities, passing over Colladeta and Cota 2000 of the ski resort. The course is designed for runners under 18 years old, although there is no age limit for this race, in fact it is ideal as a first mountain race in the heart of the Pyrenees. Kit for Vuelta al Pico Cerler and Vuelta al Molino de Cerler No mandatory kit has been stipulated for these two races, although a waterproof jacket may be required if any rain is forecasted. Should this occur, it will be notified several days prior to the race. This kit must be checked by the Organiser s staff, which will be done prior to handing over the race number. They will check that runners have everything they need in their rucksacks and that everything is in good working condition. All runners will sign a document taking responsibility for the contents of their rucksacks during the entire race. Additionally, all runners are obliged to show the Organiser their rucksacks if so required by them at any time during the race. All of this is for the purpose of laying down a safety framework for both runners and organisers. 6

sector 1 / Gran Trail Aneto-Posets / Vuelta al Aneto Benasque - Baños de Benasque / 10,7 km, +670 m, -120 m Difficulty level: easy/no difficulty. You will go along roads, tracks and a short section of footpath. The entire section has the GR11 waymarkers, aside from the waymarkers used by the Organiser. For sections along the road, pay particular attention to vehicles, making sure that you are clearly visible at night (all Gran Trail runners will travel along this section at night). Setting off from Benasque, continue along the road until the San Jaime bridge. Leave the paved road and continue along the track (GR11) which, on the right, will bring you to the Senarta plains first, and then staying on the track (GR-T 46) which runs parallel to the river to Plan d els Bañs, at the entrance of which you will take a footpath on the right that will bring you to the access road to Baños de Benasque (1674 m - km 10.3), the first race checkpoint. Expected arrival time of the first runner passing through Baños de Benasque: 01.00 h (Gran Trail) / 08.00 h (Vuelta). 18

sector 2 / Gran Trail Aneto-Posets / Vuelta al Aneto Baños de Benasque - Refugio de La Renclusa / 9,3 km, +610 m, -150 m Difficulty level: easy/moderate. You will go along the GR-T 46 footpath during most of the course, although it is a mountain path that makes it possible for you to maintain a good rhythm (even running in some cases). The greatest difficulty of this section lies in the fact that the Gran Trail runners will have to travel along it at night. This will not be the case for Vuelta al Aneto runners. Setting off from Baños de Benasque, continue along the footpath that starts from the road. It will bring you to a little before Llanos del Hospital, where you will arrive after a short section (500 m) of paved road. The terrain is already difficult in itself, and this is further exacerbated by the fact that this will be done at nighttime for the Gran Trail and the highly probable incidents as a result of the altitude, such as the presence of snowfields in shady areas, as well as the last part of the climb to the Salenques mountain pass (2797 m). To reach the Salenques mountain pass, it will be necessary to do some short climbs. Setting off from La Renclusa refuge, climb up to Cuello l Anclusa on a footpath and descend to Plan Alto d Aiguallut, which you will cross using the walkways over the river. From there, take a footpath on the right that leads you to the Barrancs valley, and then you will begin the continuous climb up to increasingly technical, high-mountain terrain until you reach the top at the Salenques mountain pass (2797 m - km 26.4), a checkpoint. In this case, some of the Gran Trail runners will travel along this section at sunrise. Without a doubt, it will be a good idea to climb sedately and make the most of it by watching the sunrise over Aneto (3404 m), which will always be on your right throughout the climb. The terrain is already difficult in itself, and this is further exacerbated by the fact that this will be done at nighttime (only for the first runners of the Gran Trail) and the highly probable incidents as a result of the altitude, such as the presence of snowfields in shady areas, as well as the descent from the Salenques mountain pass (2797 m) or the mountain pass above Estany Negre (2706 m). Practically the entire sector is at an altitude of above 2300 m. To descend from the Salenques mountain pass, it will be necessary to do some short downclimbs. Once you begin the descent from the Salenques mountain pass, you will go down granite blockfields where transit is difficult, making it impossible to run, until a spot elevation of 2550 m approximately. There, you will leave the Salenques valley, going out to the right taking the alternative GR11.5 which borders round and takes you to this new route until Estany Cap de la Vall. Climb the mountain pass at 2706 m (km 29.5) and the checkpoint, and border round the side for the descent to Estanyets mountain pass (2524 m). From there, continue along the GR11.5 to get to the Cap de Llauset refuge (km 31.6) after a few minutes, second feed station, checkpoint, medical station and evacuation point. Cross a blockfield between the Vallibierna mountain lakes and go along increasingly comfortable ground until it becomes a footpath where you can run as you lose altitude. This eventually opens out onto a track, a few metres from the Puente de Coronas refuge (1953 m - km 38.2), checkpoint and feed station. This sector begins with a relatively unmarked footpath among meadows, which leads to Sierra Negra. After reaching the summit of Estiba Freda peak, the footpath improves and continues on throughout the range of this massif. To finish the descent, the route winds through a pine forest on a comfortable footpath until leading to the GR11 again, alternating between track and footpath until Benasque. Setting off from the checkpoint at Puente de Coronas, retrace your steps a few metres to go south towards Palanca de la Riberata where a steep climb through the Estiba Freda valley awaits. After reaching the end of this valley, climb to the summit of Estiba Freda peak (2691 m km 42) where you will find the next checkpoint. From this summit, the footpath traverses the entire side of the Sierra Negra, descending continuously until reaching the forest through which you will get back onto the GR11 near Camping Ixeia. From here on, retrace your steps at the start to Central Eléctrica de Ruda where you cross the river to take a footpath for the last few kilometres to Benasque. The Vuelta al Aneto runners race ends on Avenida de los Tilos. For the Gran Trail runners, the Benasque Sports Hall (1130 m - km 55) is the site of the fourth feed station, checkpoint and medical assistance. This is also where they can retrieve their drop bag, which they left with the Organiser, and use toilets, showers, and mats to rest. The section of footpath is waymarked with PR-HU 28 and 27 on the ascent to Cerler and with PR-HU 33 on the descent to Anciles, aside from the waymarkers used by the Organiser. The last 2 km from Anciles to Eriste are along a paved track. Pay particular attention to vehicles, making sure that you are clearly visible at night. Generally speaking, you can run along this stretch, as all footpaths are in good condition. Setting off from the Benasque Sports Hall, take the PR-HU 28 on your right. After a climb of 1 km, take a diversion on the right which descends slightly. At about 500 m, take another diversion which turns left, and climb towards Cerler-Molino on the PR-HU 27; this is where the most difficult part of the climb begins. After ascending 1 km, you will see a crossing. Pass a footpath on the left and continue straight ahead until Cerler-Molino (1510 m - km 59.3), where there is a checkpoint. A quick descent to Anciles on the PR-HU 33 begins, a shady footpath of about 3 km to be enjoyed. Upon arriving at the main street of Anciles, turn left and cross the entire village. At about 500 m, pass 2 consecutive diversions on your right and continue along the paved track until the Eriste bridge. Cross it to get to the next checkpoint and evacuation point located in the village of Eriste (1080 m - km 64), where a small feed station will be found. Most of it goes along well-marked, high-mountain footpaths and a short section of track. Very physically demanding section due to the large elevation gain (almost 1800 m+). The entire section is waymarked with PR-HU 36 and GR11.2. The footpath to the Ángel Orús refuge is in very good condition. Afterwards, the GR becomes a high-mountain footpath, and it is possible to find snow at the highest points. Take special precautions if you have to go along this section at night, as its difficulty increases and you have to keep a careful eye out for the waymarkers. Setting off from Eriste, an easy climb on the PR-HU 36 brings you to the Tramarrius bridge, where you will take a track on the left to climb approximately 2 km on a track to the parking area in Espigantosa (1528 m - km 68.3). From here, the footpath gradually rises until it reaches the Ángel Orús refuge (2139 m - km 71.7) after 3 km, where you will find a checkpoint, feed station and medical station. Here, the footpath becomes the GR11.2 and after ascending 1 km, take a diversion on the left, diverging from the course of the Maratón. After approximately 1.2 km, pass several diversions that lead to the summit of Posets on your right, and follow the waymarkers until reaching the Llardaneta mountain lake (2675 m). There is some flat ground around it for you to rest your legs a little after so much climbing. From the end of the mountain lake, follow the GR waymarkers and those of the Organiser, as there are many different paths. The last 200 m+ son are the hardest and most technical, in order to finally reach the checkpoint at the Forqueta mountain pass (2868 m - km 75.5). This is because it is possible to find snow, aside from it being a steep ascent on a scree slope. From a spot elevation of 2300 m, the footpath becomes less difficult, less technical and easier to run on. Take special precautions if you have to go along this section at night, as its difficulty increases and you have to keep a careful eye out for the waymarkers. The descent from the Forqueta mountain pass begins by following the GR11.2 waymarkers. The first sections are quite steep and in case you find any snow, bear in mind that you must be extremely careful. After approximately 1.3 km, turn right and begin the steepest descent of this section, about 200 m, which brings you to a spot elevation of 2300 m. Turn right onto a more comfortable stretch. The footpath is easy to follow, and it descends 4 km through the valley until a spot elevation of 1750 m. Here, take a diversion on the right and after 100 m, another diversion on the left, until the bridge that crosses the River Zinqueta d Añes Cruces. After crossing the bridge, a short climb brings you to a new waymarker where you should turn left to continue about 1 km more until you get to the Biadós cabins. Once you ve passed them, cross a ravine and turn right to go to the Biadós refuge (1714 m - km 82.3), checkpoint, feed station and medical station, as well as the last evacuation point. The most technical part is probably the last uphill slopes and the first downhill slopes from the Estós mountain pass (2572 m) should there be any snow. Take special precautions if you have to go along this section at night, as its difficulty increases and you have to keep a careful eye out for the waymarkers. Begin retracing your steps, until you pass the diversion for the footpath where the descent from the Forqueta mountain pass is made on your right. The first section of the footpath goes halfway up about 4 km until reaching the Añes Cruces cabin (spot elevation of 2070 m), where you have to cross the ravine. The terrain is easy up to this point and it is possible to jog along at a good pace. Head east to begin the last steep climb of the course, of about 2.5 km and 500 m+, to the Estós mountain pass (2572 m - km 88.7), where a checkpoint and medical assistance can be found. From the mountain pass, take special precautions with the first downhill slopes should there be any snow. A long 5.7-km descent starts here. Follow the GR11 until you get to the Estós refuge (1866 m - km 93.2), where you will find the last checkpoint, feed station and medical assistance. The descent from the mountain pass has some technical sections, but generally speaking, it is possible to run along this stretch, due to its good condition. The section is waymarked with the GR11 red and white stripes. The last 3 km are along the road. Pay particular attention to vehicles, making sure that you are clearly visible at night. You will find it very comfortable to run along this section if you still have the strength for it, as this entire stretch goes downhill. This section begins at the Estós refuge (1866 m). Follow the GR11 which, after 2.3 km in very good condition, takes you to the Tormo cabin. From here, you have a short climb of 100 m upon leaving the plain, and a long descent of about 6.5 km on a track begins. You will pass the diversion to the Batisielles mountain lakes, the Santa Ana cabin and the Estós reservoir on your right. Take a diversion to the right of a narrow footpath; this will save you from going around a circuitous route. Return to the track that brings you now on a paved road to the San Jaime bridge. From this point, retrace your steps at the start for the last 3 km on the road which will bring you to the entrance to Benasque through calle Mayor. The finish line awaits on Avenida de los Tilos. Setting off from Benasque, continue along the road until the San Jaime bridge (3 km). There you leave the paved road to continue along a track (GR 11) which, on the left, enters the Estós valley. You then begin the climb, passing the Estós reservoir first, and then the Santa Ana cabin (6.2 km and 1469 m). After an easy climb, continue along the track until you reach the Turmo cabin, km 10 and 1743 m. 40

In 4 km, you will arrive at the Ibonet de Batisielles mountain lake (1890 m), where you will turn right. The difficult climb starts off on a good footpath, but as you near the mountain pass, the terrain will become more technical, with loose rocks that will make progress difficult.
