Why choose between a university degree or pilot training when you can do both! European cadets are automatically enrolled in our Bucks New University Degree programme. Upon completion of coursework cadets gain an Ordinary Level degree (BSc) worth 300 credits and are offered the opportunity to upgrade to a full honours degree via distance learning on completion of training at CAE. Academic accreditation of pilot training programmes provides valuable additional benefit to both cadets and their employer airlines as it represents a unique and formally recognised educational qualification to add to the ATPL or MPL with which cadets will graduate at the end of training. The degree programmes that CAE offer in conjunction with Bucks New University have been structured with industry support and airlines such as British Airways and Flybe who have been actively involved in their preparation and design. Programme Overview The BSc (Ordinary) in Air Transport Management with Airline Pilot Training is a two-year programme offered jointly by CAE and Bucks New University. It aims to fully prepare trainee pilots to operate as a First Officer on multi-pilot, multi-engine airliners in the commercial air transport environment and also enables them to develop specialist knowledge of operations and management in the air transport industry. Academic credits are earned through completing CAE s MPL or ATPL pilot training courses. This constitutes year one and year two of the academic programme. Over this period additional modules are delivered by Bucks New University in both Oxford and Phoenix. The honours modules are delivered by Bucks New University after cadets have completed all their training at CAE. This portion of training, which constitutes year three of the programme, is delivered through distance learning and can be completed up to two years after completing the CAE training programme. This will give cadets the flexibility to fit these modules around their schedule at a time when they will be looking for an airline job, completing airline interviews and potentially undergoing type, base and line training with an airline. 20 CAE BECOME A PILOT
