Hotel accessibility pack Thank you for considering the Hilton Dunkeld House Hotel. We are pleased to give you some information about our hotel that you may find useful when planning your visit. Arriving at the hotel You can use one of three entrances to the hotel. 1 The main entrance has a ramp, which leads directly into the main reception area. 2 The new wing west has disabled car parking spaces which lead to a ramp into the ground floor of the bedroom wing of the hotel. This leads to the main reception area. 3 The new wing east has disabled car parking spaces, which lead to a ramp into the ground floor of the bedroom wing of the hotel. This leads to the main reception area. The main entrance has an open door, with one large glass door into the main reception area. There is a bell in case you need help. After 11pm, we lock the front doors and there is a doorbell to the right of the main door. The car park covers the front and back of the hotel. There are disabled parking bays by all entrances. If you need help with luggage, equipment or any guidance, our team of porters and concierge are on duty 24 hours a day. Please ask at reception for help. Welcome and reception There are no steps in the main reception area. The front desk is in front of you as enter from the main hotel entrance. Straight through reception is the lounge area and further on, the garden bar and restaurant. Turn right at reception and this corridor will take you to the main bedroom wing. The lift is at the bottom of this corridor to your right. The surfaces on all the floors are carpet. The far end of the Garden Restaurant is tiled. Check-in is at the main reception desk, which is 44 inches high. However, if you ask a member of staff will also be able to come to the lounge area to help you register. 1

The induction loop is at the check-in point on the right-hand side of the reception desk. When you check-in, our staff will tell you about our evacuation policy. Other services If you want to order a newspaper, please contact the reception team. We will deliver your newspaper each day to your room. You can order a wake-up call through the reception team. Or, you can set a wake-up call in your room using the television. Every guest room has a guest directory that contains information about the facilities in the hotel. For extra help to use this directory, please contact a team member. Reception will be able to arrange for any photocopying or secretarial services. Wifi is free in the public areas and is accessed by a code which the reception team can give to you. Wifi is available in the room at 14.99 per 24 hour period. Toilet facilities Phones Toilet facilities are past reception, first left and along the corridor. These do not have specific accessible toilets. A toilet designed for disabled people is along the same corridor. The public phones are to the right of the reception desk on the lefthand wall. Getting round the hotel The lift has an announcement system to let you know what floor you are on and tactile (with markings which can be felt) buttons at the regulation height. The lift has mirrors on the left and back wall. 2

Ghillies Bar Lounge The Ghillies Bar is directly opposite reception. The Ghillies is carpeted and there are no stairs. The lounge is through to the left past reception. It is carpeted and is open plan. Garden Bar and Restaurant The Garden Bar and Restaurant is to the left past reception and through the lounge. There are no stairs and the bar and restaurant are all on the same level. The bar and restaurant are open-plan. There are no doors to pass through once in the bar or to get to the Restaurant. The bar is carpeted and the restaurant is carpeted for half of its length. It then leads to a tiled conservatory. We can provide menus in large print if you need. LivingWell Health Club The hotel has a LivingWell health club on the ground floor. To get to the health club, go out of the ground-floor new wing exit door and turn left along the car park to the main LivingWell entrance. The doorway into the leisure club has heavy glass doors so please ring the bell and a team member will help you through. Once in the club the reception desk is to your left. The pool is in front of you, the changing rooms are to the right and the fitness room is to your left past the reception desk. There is a changing room specifically for disabled people to the left as you enter the main door of the club. It has lockers, toilet facilities and a shower. There is a small step to the sauna and steam rooms. A hoist is available for access to and from the pool. 3

The spa is not suitable for wheelchairs. However, if you want to use the facilities we will help you in and out. The gym has laminate flooring. The gym has four running machines, two cycling machines, two rowing machines, two step machines, three upper body weight machines and an exercise area and free-weights area. Team members at the reception desk can provide towels. Water dispensers are available by the poolside and in the gym. Coffee and tea are also available from a machine at the reception desk. There is a soft drinks machine at the far end of the swimming pool. Bedrooms There are two accessible rooms with showers (two double rooms). They link to a standard twin room which can be used by a carer. All accessible rooms have grab rails around the toilet, a higher level toilet, an emergency pull cord and a low-level storage shelf. Accessible rooms with wheel-in showers have the following extra facilities a wheel-in shower with a seat and a lower-level sink. We can add the following equipment to any room in the hotel for you to use. - A Derby toilet seat - A Derby bath board mark-2 with handle. - A Cosby bath seat - An Ashby Step-Two - Bed risers (individual elephant feet) - An inflatable chair to help you get in and out of a bath - Rubber mats Your room will have a chair at the desk, a comfy chair and a coffee table. If you need more space in your room, we can remove any of these items. Please contact either reservations, before your stay or housekeeping once you have arrived at the hotel to arrange for furniture to be moved. In an emergency If the alarm bell rings, this will be a continuous siren-like sound. If you are in your room, please stay there. 4

We will send a staff member to your room immediately. He or she will knock on your door, and enter using a fire key. They will then help you either to a safe area in the hotel or out of the building. If we help you to a safe point, we will be give further instructions. When you leave your room, please do not stop to collect your personal belongings other than medication that you may need. The safe areas are on the ground, first and second floors. From this point we will help you to the nearest safe lift. We structure the evacuation to help people who are nearest to the fires. If we move you to the lifts and you are waiting, this will be because you are in no immediate danger. If we need to use the fire stairs, we will transfer you into a lightweight evacuation chair and carry you down the stairs and outside. If a member of staff does not reach your room, carefully open the door and check your route to the point of safety. If it is blocked or if there is smoke, go back into your room and close the door. The door to your room is fire resistant for one hour. As soon as the fire brigade arrive, we will tell them your room number. Do not block the door with anything, including towels, as this will prevent the fire brigade from entering your room. Do not open any windows as this can increase the air circulating and increase smoke and flames. If the fire is in your room, get out and close the door behind you, breaking a fire alarm if possible on your way out. We test the emergency alarms on Wednesdays at 11am. The siren will sound for no more than one minute. Other information For extra help before you arrive, please contact our reservations department on 01350 727771. 5
