Juyong Pass: A mountain pass located in the Changping District of Beijing Municipality, over 31 miles from central Beijing. The Great Wall of China passes through, and the Cloud Platform was built here in the year 1342. Pearl Shop: China is the world's largest producer of freshwater pearls and there's a good chance you'll find something you like for a reasonable price. Gongfu Show: Also called Kongfu Show and Wushu. It appeared in ancient China as early as 2,500 years ago. During the warring states period in the time of Spring and Autumn (770-221BC), a method called Daoyin was evolved to promote health. Today, in China and around the world, millions of people are fascinated by Chinese Wushu and benefit from it. It is believed to be effective in preventing and curing diseases like cold, indigestion, and eyestrain. FORBIDDEN CITY The Forbidden City: A palace complex in central Beijing, China. The former Chinese imperial palace from the Ming dynasty to the end of the Qing dynasty (the years 1420 to 1912), it now houses the Palace Museum. The Forbidden City served as the residence of emperors and their households as well as the ceremonial and political center of the Chinese government for almost 500 years. Birds' Nest and Water Cube: These are the new landmarks of Beijing since the successful Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. They are situated opposite each other at the Olympic Park.
