Here are a selection of comments from our guestbook since Caban Tawel first welcomed our guests: Really lovely area and lodge to stay in, would highly recommend and will be staying again. Particularly liked the welcome pack and helpful notes throughout the lodge. December 2017 Having stayed in many cottages throughout Wales, this was the cleanest, most well equipped and spacious and well worth the money. We plan to return. October 2017 My daughter and I received a warm welcome from Mr & Mrs James. Caban Tawel was immaculate, well equipped and charming. We enjoyed a lovely week touring the area and very much hope to return to Caban Tawel, a haven of peace and tranquillity, again next year. September 2017 This was our first visit to Caban Tawel and we will be back. It is a splendidly private and peaceful spot but the lovely owners are there if you need them. The cabin is well laid out, clean, cosy and dry - and good layout and thoughtful touches made it easy to keep it that way despite a couple of days of strong winds and horizontal rain during our stay. We had everything we needed and when we came back after a day of exploring, the plentiful hot water and excellent showers were a godsend. We really appreciated the owners eco-friendly approach too. Outside, the secure garden, wonderful views and lovely woodland walks from the door made this a place where we and our three dogs could relax and unwind. The cabin is a great base for exploring Pembrokeshire, but it is also a nice place to stay in, and there are plenty of walks from the door if you want to leave the car behind. After a busy day it was a great place to relax and gaze out at the broad-leafed trees that surround the cabin. There are some beautiful old oak trees there which I especially love. Humans and dogs alike had such a relaxing holiday here and we are already planning our next visit. June 2017
The cabin was everything we could wish for and more. And in idyllic surroundings in an ideal spot to access gorgeous quiet countryside and beaches. The walks around the farm - especially along by the stream were entrancing, and so convenient when dogs needed another short walk. Very reasonably priced meals were to be had locally when we didn't want to eat in. The friendliness and helpfulness of the owners completed the package making for one of those special memorable holidays we will always remember. June 2017 Caban Tawel was spotless and so peaceful and quiet. Couldn't fault it in anyway and owners were really lovely people. Would recommend to family and friends. May 2017 Lovely quiet location but with easy access to main routes. Plenty of close walks for dogs and short drive to lovely beaches. A delight. April 2017 Very tranquil area and lots of area for the dogs to play and walk. Cabin very clean and comfortable. A wonderful getaway from the stresses of daily life. Would highly recommend. March 2017 Had a fantastic time here. A lovely peaceful setting and the cabin was perfect for us. We ve really enjoyed walking on Newgale beach and wandering through the woods here. Weather has been great too! We will definitely be recommending a stay here to our friends. Richard and Elizabeth have made us feel very welcome. March 2016 Had a brilliant time here in the peaceful surroundings of Caban Tawel. The cabin was well equipped and provided a welcome retreat at the end of the day! April 2016 What a lovely place to stay!! We are so glad we found it. A lovely birthday week had by all. Newgale is a definite favourite for us. We ve been to Pembrokeshire before and we will most assuredly be returning again. Lots of dog-friendly things to do. Scolton Manor gardens is a little gem & St. David s Palace was very interesting. Plenty of walking along stunning peninsula walks, especially St. David s head. We hope to return soon. May 2016 A fantastic location for everyone. The garden is great for the dogs and for us as so many amazing birds visit daily. The cabin was very cosy & was well equipped. We were exceptionally lucky with the weather so visited some amazing places and did a lot of walking. Great places for dogs:- Newgale Sands, many local woods and glorious beaches. Real gems:- Scolton Manor and Freshwater West. Now we can t wait to come back. Thank you very much. May 2016 This is our second stay and has been as good as last time! We have had our own spring watch going on and have spotted a kite, robins, jays, bullfinches, gold finches and numerous other finches, a heron flying over. We so enjoyed the cabin, so peaceful and quiet, and we loved going out and doing stuff each day. We have "done" a few cottages now and the cabin is by far the cleanest, most well equipped and best thought out one we have used. So thank you again and we hope to be back next year if you'll have us. June 2016 Lovely, comfortable, clean cabin with wonderful views. Thank you so much for another wonderful week. It has been lovely to be back at Caban Tawel. We ve done some amazing walks and had lots of sunny afternoons on beautiful beaches. Thank you for the eggs and milk. July 2016 It s been fantastic to return for our 3 rd visit we love it here! So peaceful and tranquil in our own little woodland corner. We ve discovered some different places and activities this year as the children are older. Hangar 5 trampolining centre was great, as was the Blue Lagoon Water Park. We discovered Broad Haven beach with a tasty tea shop. Lovely to see how Carmarthen has been redeveloped and is looking great (brings back Uni memories from 20 years ago!) all worth a visit. Thank you for the eggs, milk and a beautifully clean and organised cabin. See you again very soon. August 2016 Such a beautiful place and cosy home from home. We have had some wonderful times here at Folly Farm, Newgale Beach, Broadhaven and stunning Tenby. We will definitely be back again, such a friendly place and very dog friendly too. Thank you for a lovely holiday and such a cosy clean cabin too. Also the milk! See you again. August 2016 Thank you for a great stay. The cabin was very warm and comfortable. The area was beautiful and we enjoyed lots of walks on the beach with our dogs. Hopefully we will be back again at some point. September 2016 We had a wonderful stay. Weather bad on first day, but lovely thereafter. Strumble Head and Dinas Head well worth a visit. Fabulous beaches! Perfect log cabin for a short stay with the dogs. Thank you. New Year 2017 We are returning visitors and as usual found the cabin beautifully clean and cosy. We love the setting and the views. As last time the highlight of our holiday was a visit to Skomer. However we have also enjoyed some lovely walks, picnics and visits to gardens. May 2015
We ve had a fantastic week here in your lovely log cabin. We ve been really comfortable and have loved the peace and quiet and watching the bats each evening. June 2015 Our first visit has been fabulous. Totally loved the peace and quiet and watching the birds and bats spotted fly catcher, kites, jay, magpies, robin, wren. We have found the location great for exploring everywhere really central. The kitchen is so well stocked. Lovely enclosed area has meant our dogs have chilled safely. Broad Haven and Little Haven great for the beach, St. Davids lovely, Narberth for fab retail therapy. Lovely meal at the Mill and Corner Piece (homely, simple and nice welcome). Thank you for having us! June 2015 A rural idyll. Wonderful cosy, well equipped, peaceful and restorative cabin, also a very warm welcome. A fantastic place to unwind and reflect, to take time out from modern life. The situation is well within the reach of other beautiful spots and after a hard days tourism the cabin offers a welcome and comfortable respite. Thank you for sharing your cabin with us. September 2015 Very well equipped, clean and comfortable. Great location for many of the lovely attractions that Pembrokeshire has to offer. We enjoyed every day and particularly a lovely drive through the Preseli Hills, the Llys-y-Fran Country Park and, of course, the wonderful St. Davids Cathedral. We ve had a wonderful relaxing week at the cabin once again. Since our last visit in 2009 it is still a tranquil haven just lovely, cosy, warm and welcoming Highlights for us Porthgain and The Sloop always a warm welcoming pint and meal. And the Tin Shed at Rosebush, well worth a visit. December 2015 We have had the most wonderful, relaxing holiday. We've walked for miles, enjoying your beautiful surroundings. As we come from Ireland, the weather was wonderful! I loved it and can t wait to come back next year! One of our young guests, July 2013 Thank you very much for such a lovely stay in a beautiful cabin in a lovely location. It was fantastic to get away from it all literally! The cabin is in the middle of nowhere and a couple of nights I spent sat out on the balcony just chilling out and refuelling after busy days at the beach and going to castles. The cabin was very quickly home and I have loved every second. Once again I would like to say thank you for an amazing week. What a fabulous place tranquil, peaceful and beautiful. A perfect base for exploring in and around Pembrokeshire. And even further afield! The cabin is all you could ever wish for and would quite happily live here forever! The boys have had the best fun body boarding and carting at Carew was a real adrenaline rush for them too! The only downside of this holiday is that we have to go home all too soon! August 2013 This is our first visit to your cabin and we have been so impressed with how well equipped it is and how well placed for exploring Pembrokeshire. The views and tranquillity are lovely. Great instructions on how to find it. The cabin is great, comfortable, light, warm and well equipped. Very tranquil setting with amazing views, the best one is from the veranda. Without doubt this is a superb cabin and location and to allow pets in such a place is a credit to yourselves (also owners that do not abuse the rules). We have had a great time and great weather.
