TRANSPORTATION We will be using V & C Bus Service for pickup and drop off and for all of our day trips this summer. You will be notified a week before camp starts the exact time and location where the bus will pick up and drop off your child. Freshies & Juniors will have designated buses taking campers to the YKLI Campus and Seniors & MITs will have designated buses taking campers to the MAY Campus. Please be patient with us and understand that it will take a few days of driving the bus route for the bus driver to be on a steady schedule. Please ensure that your son is waiting at his stop on time. It goes without saying that in order to be able to go on the bus, behavior must be befitting a Ben Torah. Any camper arriving late to Camp must be signed in at the office. If you plan to pick up your son from Camp, please call the Camp office no later than 2:00 on a weekday and 12:00 on a Friday so that your son will be ready to go when you arrive. Additionally, any camper being picked up early, must be signed out at the office. Please be advised that under no circumstances can the bus routes be changed once the summer has begun. (If available, additional t-shirts are available for purchase at $10.00/shirt.) SWIMMING Our swimming program for all divisions this summer under the direction of our Head Lifeguard, Rabbi Ari Glazer. Swimming will be included in the daily schedule (barring certain trip days, overnights and Fridays). Red Cross certified life guards will be assisting the Head Lifeguards in the supervision of the campers. Every camper must be in the pool area during his bunk s swim period. Campers will be strongly encouraged to go swimming. However, no camper will be forced to go into the pool. Age-appropriate instructional swim will be provided for the Freshies and Junior Divisions together with their free swim. FOOD Delicious, hot, catered lunches are provided daily. A light breakfast is served following davening for the Senior Division (5 th grade and up). A menu will be provided during the first week of camp. Your son may bring lunch from home. Please do not send in any food with nuts as we are a nut-free camp. CAMP OVERNIGHTS BASIC INFORMATION & SUPPLY LIST (For Junior and Senior Divisions only) The Junior Division will have 1 late night trip each half in addition to their many exciting day trips. The 4 th Grade (Senior Division) will have 1 major overnight trip each half in addition to their many exciting day trips. The 5 th - 8 th Grades (Senior Division) will be embarking on 3 major overnight trips over the course of the summer in addition to their many exciting day trips. An itinerary and supply list for each overnight will be sent home with your son prior to each trip. We strongly discourage the boys from bringing expensive items on overnight trips. Cell phones are not permitted on overnights. Staff members have cell phones and campers will be able to call home at designated times if they wish. Parents will be responsible to pick up children after each overnight. Please make every effort to be waiting at the pick-up location prior to the arrival of the buses. ELECTRONIC DEVICES Camp Areivim is a technology free zone! Please ensure that no electronic devices (including cell phones) are brought to camp. On Senior Division overnights ONLY, campers may only bring electronic games that do not have internet capabilities (password protected devices are not permitted). There are to be no devices with any material not befitting a Ben-Torah. These rules will be strictly enforced.
DRESS CODE Pants must be worn during davening and learning for the Senior Division. Campers over Bar Mitzvah must wear a hat and jacket for davening as well. There will be lockers for the boys to keep their clothing and items in. Any clothing with writing on it or that is otherwise not befitting a Ben-Torah are not allowed in camp. CANTEEN (For Senior & Junior Divisions only) Free canteen will be provided to those campers who registered before the free canteen deadline. Campers will be able to spend $1.00/day of free canteen. In order to discourage boys from carrying money throughout the day, campers can open a canteen account. Particularly for Junior Division campers, this is strongly recommended. Accounts can be replenished throughout the summer. LOST AND FOUND There will be a lost and found located outside the main office. ALL BELONGINGS (including shoes, crocs, yarmulkas, tzitzis, towels, etc.) brought to Camp must be clearly labeled with camper s name and division. The Camp will not be responsible for any personal items. BEHAVIOR Camp Areivim is a place where campers have fun in a Toiradik environment. We expect only behavior that is befitting a Ben-Torah and good sportsmanship from all of our campers. If a boy physically endangers another camper or engages in any other behavior unbefitting a Ben-Torah, we will have no choice but to send him home for the remainder of that day. Subsequent episodes may forfeit a camper s right to be in Camp (without a refund). FORMS Please make sure that all forms are submitted to the camp office by June 1 st. No camper will be permitted to attend camp without a completed medical form. Please understand that in case of emergency, we will call parent/guardian and/or the emergency contact number. If we are unable to contact someone, we will administer treatment as advised by an EMT, RN or doctor. PAYMENT Payment for Camp must be paid in full by June 1 st. All checks should be made payable to Camp Areivim. No camper will be permitted to attend Camp unless payment is made in full. There are no refunds for days missed, trips missed, cancellations or dismissals from Camp.
