The Cumbria Tourism Awards celebrate Cumbria s exceptional tourism industry and the talented businesses and individuals which drive a visitor economy worth 2.62 billion and support a county which welcomes over 43 million visitors a year. The awards are now in their 15th year and recognise those businesses who are offering excellence and innovation in their product, service, welcome, marketing and sustainable practices. Many winners from the Cumbria Tourism Awards will go on to represent the county at the national VisitEngland Awards in 2018, resulting in fantastic media promotion for the winning businesses and Cumbria - the Lake District as a quality visitor destination. There are 17 award categories which celebrate the huge range and diversity of Cumbria s tourism industry. The awards final Wednesday 21st June 2017 - Cartmel Racecourse We re delighted to announce that the Cumbria Tourism Awards celebration, held on Wednesday 21 st June 2017, will be returning to Cartmel Racecourse for a second year and catered by Campbell and Rowley s. Our award finalists will begin celebrating their achievements on the evening with a drinks reception at this glamorous black tie event. The winners of the Cumbria Tourism Awards 2017 will then be revealed in the awards ceremony before the guests sit down to enjoy some of the best Cumbrian produce during a three course dinner created and served by Campbell and Rowley s. For the third year, the awards presented to the winners will be made by award-winning architectural and sculptural metalworkers Chris Brammall Ltd in Ulverston. Chris and his team will again create an iconic and bespoke work of art to reward the achievements of the county s top tourism operators. Our host at the 2016 event was British comedian Justin Moorhouse who entertained the audience with his witty banter throughout the evening. Our 2017 event host will be announced soon. Why get involved? Tourism plays a vital role in Cumbria s economy and the awards recognise the importance of its continued growth and development. The Cumbria Tourism Awards will help you to build relationships with our tourism industry and the event creates excellent PR opportunities for individual businesses and Cumbria as a whole.
