Published Noise Abatement procedures are mandatory unless otherwise ordered by ATC; they may, however, be departed from at any time to the extent necessary to avoid immediate danger. 2. Pilots are reminded to conduct their flights so as to cause the least practicable disturbance to the local community. 3. Use of reheat/afterburner prohibited unless operationally essential. PRACTICE DIVERSIONS 4. Practice diversions are strictly PPO 17-0800 (local) daily and will not normally be approved after 2200 (local). When approved, recovery will normally be by PAR. VFR RECOVERIES 5. CAUTION. Helicopters and acft may be active on the dead-side. Terminal control may be imposed by ATC. 6. Visiting fixed-wing aircraft are to call APPROACH at 40nm (jet), 20nm (piston), inbound. 7. Pilots are not to overfly GLASTONBURY, SHEPTON MALLET or EVERCREECH below 2000 AGL. 8. Pilots are to self navigate to the circuit changing to TOWER at 10nm or above 2000. Aircraft are normally to 'break' at the rwy THR at 1000 QFE for duty Rwy 27, or the rwy intersection for duty Rwy 04, 09 or 22. 9. The dead-side is limited to a line drawn through the Control Tower and parallel to the duty rwy. CIRCUIT FLYING 10. Direction: Rwys 04 and 09 RHC. Circuit height: 1000. 11. Pilots are to adjust their circuits so as to avoid overflying local villages. VFR DEPARTURES 12. When cleared for VFR departure, fixed-wing aircraft are to climb straight ahead, calling APPROACH, when clear of the circuit, for en-route clearance. RADAR PROCEDURES 13. Radar controlled arrivals and departures are normally mandatory if weather conditions are below 5 5km visibility, cloud 2.
