Itinerary The below itinerary is only a suggestion, we offer tailor-made personal service and solutions to help you plan your perfect vacation. Departs Vancouver Day 1 Vancouver to Victoria (68 km/42 mi + ferry) Your destination today is the city of Victoria, located on Vancouver Island. Departing Vancouver, stop at the fishing village of Steveston - home to the Gulf of Georgia Cannery National Historic Site (admission not included). Continue to the Tsawwassen Ferry Terminal for your 90 min. ride to Victoria (ferry toll included). Arriving on Vancouver Island, it is a short and scenic drive to Butchart Gardens (admission included) - fifty-five acres of floral display, before arriving into the charming harbour city of Victoria. Day 2 Victoria to Quadra Island (269 km/168 mi) Travelling north on the Island Highway, pass through Duncan the City of Totems. If time permits, visit the Quwutsun Heritage Village which provides you with an insight into the lives of the northwest coast people (seasonal hours - admission not included). Further north is the artist community of Chemainus, where you can admire the giant murals which adorn the exterior walls throughout the town. By late afternoon arrive in Campbell River to board a BC Ferries (ferry tolls included) for a short ride to Quadra Island. Your destination is April Point Resort for a 2-night stay. Day 3 Eco Wilderness Tour Today cruise through breathtaking Desolation Sound and enjoy the majesty of Toba Inlet to seek out Black Bears in their natural habitat. See Mitlenatch Island Marine Park and Bird Sanctuary, sea lions, dolphins, eagles, timber wolves, deer and more (included). Day 4 Quadra Island to Port Hardy (241 km/150 mi) This morning take the ferry back to Vancouver Island and continue your journey north. Near Port McNeill you may wish to take an orca watching cruise into the waters of Johnstone Strait (not included). Your day ends in the fishing community of Port Hardy. Day 5 Port Hardy to Prince Rupert (Ferry) Embark on a full day of cruising the sheltered waters of Canada s Inside Passage with BC Ferries (ferry tolls included). During the length of the 15-hour crossing, a wonderful array of snow-capped mountains combined with rich forests provides a background for a series of dramatic fjords. Day 6 Prince Rupert to Smithers (364 km/227 mi) Today, follow the winding and narrow Yellowhead Highway, hugging the Skeena River for most of the way. Pass through the mining town of Terrace and into Smithers. Located in the centre of the Bulkley Valley at the foot of the Hudson Bay Mountain, Smithers offers excellent opportunities for outdoor adventures. (Breakfast included) Day 7 Smithers to Prince George (372 km/232 mi) Depart Smithers today, continuing along the Yellowhead Highway. Passing through Houston - known as the Steelhead Capital and home to the world s biggest fly rod; over 18 metres in length! Next you will travel through Burns Lake, Vanderhoof and into Prince George. Prince George is the largest service centre for the northern part of British Columbia; perfectly situated at the crossroads of two major highways and two railways. Day 8 Prince George to Jasper (376 km/234 mi) Today is another unforgettable day of passing scenery. Follow mountain passes and raging rivers as you wind your way to an overnight stop in Jasper - the Jewel of the Rockies. Day 9 Jasper Exploring Explore this charming mountain village close to many terrific scenic highlights. Take a tram ride up Whistlers Mountain, or visit Maligne Lake, one of the most photographed lakes in the world, and enjoy a 90-minute cruise heading toward the south end of this postcard setting (admissions not included). You will marvel at the magnificent shoreline with dense forest and glacial peaks rising abruptly from the water s edge. Stopping at Spirit Island, you will have the opportunity to take your own version of the world famous photograph of the lake. Day 10 Jasper to Banff (265 km/164 mi) Your scenic drive on the Icefields Parkway today takes you through the spine of the Canadian Rockies. View a never-ending procession of mammoth mountains, jagged peaks, over 100 glaciers and pristine emerald coloured lakes. Along the way see such sights as the Columbia Icefield and take an Ice Explorer ride out onto the glacier (included). Also watch for the Sarbach Glacier, Peyto Lake, Bow Lake, with the Bow Glacier providing the backdrop, and Crowfoot Glacier before your arrival into Lake Louise. From Lake Louise choose the Bow Valley Parkway, beside the Bow River, with an option for you to take a stop at Johnston Canyon and walk along the paved footpath to either the lower or upper waterfalls before continuing to Banff. Day 11 Banff Exploring (Banff Gondola) A full day to explore Banff and the surrounding area. In town you ll find lots of excitement including shopping, cafés, nightlife and museums. Check out the Cave and Basin National Historic Site, Banff Gondola (included) where you will see a panoramic view of the Bow Valley, and then take a dip in the hot mineral pools at the Upper Hot Springs. Day 12 Banff to Calgary (115 km/72 mi) Drive to Calgary today, along the 1A Highway. En-route, you may wish to stop at the Historic Cochrane Ranche Site (not included) before dropping off your rental car at the Calgary International Airport or downtown. Departs Calgary Day 1 Calgary to Banff (115 km /72 mi) Departing Calgary today, travel west through the foothills of the Rockies to the resort town of Banff. Travelling along Highway 1A offers a leisurely and scenic route to Banff. Day 2 Banff Exploring (Banff Gondola) A full day to explore Banff and the surrounding area. Check out the Cave and Basin National Historic Site, Banff Gondola (included) where you will see a panoramic view of the Bow Valley, and then take a dip in the hot mineral pools at the Upper Hot Springs (included). Day 3 Banff to Jasper (265 km/164 mi) Take the short drive to Lake Louise, the Jewel of the Canadian Rockies. Continue on to Jasper via the Icefields Parkway the most spectacular trip in the Canadian Rockies. The highway follows the spine of the Canadian Rockies, passing beneath jagged snow and ice capped peaks, with sparkling lakes and literally a hundred glaciers visible throughout the course of the day. Along the way see such sights as the Columbia Icefield and take an Ice Explorer ride out onto the glacier (included). Day 4 Jasper Exploring Explore this charming mountain village close to many terrific scenic highlights. Take a tram ride up Whistlers Mountain, or visit Maligne Lake, one of the most photographed lakes in the world, and enjoy a 90-minute cruise heading toward the south end of this postcard setting (Maligne Lake cruise not included). Day 5 Jasper to Prince George (376 km/234 mi) Depart Jasper westbound out of Jasper National Park (Canada s largest mountain park) and over the Continental Divide, which divides the watershed of North America. To the west of the summit, all water flows to the Pacific Ocean, to the east, to either the Arctic or Atlantic Ocean. Today is another unforgettable day of scenery. Day 6 Prince George to Smithers (372 km/232 mi) Continue your travels through Vanderhoof Burns Lake, and Houston - known as the Steelhead Capital and home to the world s biggest fly rod -over 18 metres in length! Smithers, known as Little Switzerland is located in the centre of the Bulkley Valley at the foot of the Hudson Bay Mountain. Smithers offers excellent opportunities for outdoor adventures. through New Hazelton, where you may want to visit the Ksan Historic Indian Village. You will see the tribal village, carving house, totem poles and museum. Day 8 Prince Rupert to Port Hardy (Ferry) Embark on a full day cruising the sheltered waters of Canada s Inside Passage with BC Ferries (ferry toll included).
