What You Need to Know The Short Version There are two main rules that will take care of everything we need to know at the Amazing Race Bible Camp. Jesus gave them to us in Matthew 22:34-40: WHEN is Camp? 3pm, Sunday, June 10 th Camp Opens 10am, Friday, June 15 th Camp Closes ***ABSOLUTELY NO CAMPERS BEFORE 3PM!*** WHERE? WHO? COST? Camp Leatherwood 3235 Westcott Road, White Bluff, TN Director s Phone: (615) 351-2446 Ages 7 through graduating high school Seniors Boys and Girls regardless of race or religious affiliation Camp costs $125 for the week. Apply early to guarantee your spot! A $25 non-refundable deposit is due by May 20 th. Cost does not include canteen snacks or crafts. The average family spends $10-20 per week. A limited number of scholarships are available. See the director with questions. Camp Rules Follow the camp schedule o Campers may not leave without prior written consent of parent/guardian and approval from camp director. This needs to be kept to a minimum as it interferes with the mission of camp. o No early check-outs on Thursday night. This disrupts other campers and makes cleanup more difficult. Follow the directions of the camp director and staff o Stay in your cabin after lights out. o No boys in the girls area. No girls in the boys area. o The director reserves the right to search any camper s belongings at any time, for any reason, and confiscate any items he judges to be dangerous, harmful, or inappropriate. o Respect others property. o Keep your area and the camp clean. We have zero tolerance for pranks, practical jokes, cabin raids, etc. You will not receive a warning. No alcohol, tobacco (including e-cigs), illegal drugs, weapons, illicit material, or fireworks allowed on the property. Camp is an electronics-free zone. No phones, ipods, tablets, DS, etc. All medications must be given to the Camp Nurse to be administered. Dress Code We do not want clothing to be a distraction or a stumbling block for any of our campers and staff. Everyone at camp, including visitors, must abide by the following dress code: All clothing must be modest and appropriate No sleeveless or open-midriff shirts No leggings Shorts must be knee-length Cover-ups must be worn to/from the pool and bath-house Closed-toe tennis shoes are required for recreation games and hikes. Violators will be asked to change clothes. Repeated violators may be asked to leave camp. The camp rules and dress code are an important part of camp. The Director reserves the right to dismiss anyone from camp if, in his judgment, such action will improve the atmosphere of the camp. No refunds will be made. The Youth Director has my permission to take said participant to any hospital, emergency room, or physician s office if necessary. I further authorize any qualified physician to administer treatment or surgery deemed necessary. With this permission for treatment as needed, I also agree to assume responsibility for expenses incurred in these emergency procedures. Packing List Linens: Twin Sheets or sleeping bag Pillow and pillow case Towels for the shower and the pool Dirty clothes bag Clothes: Plenty of shorts and t-shirts for sports and games Extra socks and underwear Flip flops for the shower Tennis shoes Swim suit and cover-up Personal Necessities: Toiletries: soap, shampoo, toothbrush, toothpaste, hygiene products Bug spray and sunscreen Flashlight Medications and inhalers (must be turned in to camp nurse on arrival) Bible, pen, and paper Money for canteen and crafts (must be turned in on arrival) Leave at home: Don t bring any kind of electronics, weapons, drugs, illegal or inappropriate material. Leave any clothes behind that do not adhere to the dress code! Visiting Camp Parents, family, and friends are welcome to come visit us at camp on Wednesday for dinner. Please bring $5 to offset the cost of your meal. We will do our best to prepare extra, but we ask you to let the campers go first in line. When you visit, please do not bring a special meal for your camper. It creates problems for the campers whose families are not able to bring food, and it throws off our eating schedule.
