Rick & Jodi Birthdays Pam Let s Take Some Mike Bob Joe Ron Rene Time And Welcome Our New members To Our Family! New Members Dave - Safety Officer Lahcen Dave's Safety Tip Janice Gary Steven INDEPENDENT NEWS Safety Tips For Riding In The Rain The best advise you ll hear regarding riding in the rain is don t do it. Bad weather and wet roads raise motorcycle riding to a whole another level of complexity and danger. Now, having said that, there is another side to this. That is riding in the rain can be an enjoyable, rewarding experience. While you might not ac vely seek out this kind of fun, you can t always be sure that a trip that starts with sunny skies will end that way. So, like it or not, let s deal with riding in the rain. The three keys to doing it safely and enjoyably are in the management of three highly variable factors: trac on, visibility, and comfort. Look for part 2 of Safety Tips for Riding in the Rain in next months Newsle er. Keep the shiny side up and ride safe. Dave

Winner s Circle Jodi s PAGE 3 Trivia & Fun Facts Mark Mark was the big winner of the drawing for the $25 gas card. You can t beat free gas for free! Just look at that smile. Bea OMG! Look at all that cash! Bea was the 50/50 winner at our mee ng. Another big smile of the day. Congrats Bea! Did you know that modern sports bike tires do not contain actual rubber? The tread of a tire is composed of synthetic rubber, which has been compounded to give a compromise between durability and traction. Why does Ford Motor Company make a Harley-Davidson Edition to their truck line Answer: Both started in 1903 Today s Ride Today s ride will be taking us north to a place called The Rock Inn in a little town called, Lake Hughes. This is a popular biker hangout where people stop to eat, drink, socialize and just to hang out. Our route will take us through the back roads of Moorpark, down to Fillmore to Hwy 126. Once we hit Santa Clarita we will head north onto Bouquet Canyon to Elizabeth Lake Road to our destination, The Rock Inn. IRUSA s Christmas Party Last Month s Rides IRUSA s Holiday Brunch Our first and only ride for the month was after our General Meeting. Sadly to say two of our Members had horrific losses in their life. We cancelled our regularly scheduled ride for that day and decided to support and show our IRUSA family members how much we care and love them by riding to their homes and taking them for a lunch ride as a group. There are no words that can be said for their loss, but to show them that we are and will be there for them. We had two events last month that was a non riding get together. Our first event was IRUSA s 2nd Annual Christmas/Holiday Party at Viva La Pasta for brunch in Simi Valley. What a feast! You name it and they had it from lobster thermidor to pasta, BBQ, breakfast, pastries, seafood and much, much more! There were lots of prizes given out which one prize was an IRUSA free year free membership for 2015. What a great time getting together to celebrate the Holidays with family and friends. Our second event that was given by one of our own members, Sandy. She called it an All Holiday Party. It was graciously held at her home for her friends, family and she also included her family at IRUSA. Sandy had beautiful decorations and delicious food. I might add also that the bar tender, our very own Jodi, made some great drinks all day behind the well stocked bar! Thank you Sandy for a great party!
