TIPS FOR STAYING PHYSICALLY ACTIVE EVERYDAY We move a lot everyday! In the garden or on the farm, during work, walking around the farmers market or grocery store, enjoying the woods, lake, your neighborhood, or even cleaning your home. Within all that movement it s easy to find ways to be more active. Just 30 minutes of activity a the day can help you meet your fitness goals. Tight on time? Try breaking it down into 10 minute movement sessions. And remember always check with your doctor before beginning a physical activity plan. Example Activity Plan Before work: Spend 10 minutes stretching, go for a walk around the block with your morning coffee Work: Park far away from the building Once ever hour take a short walk around your work space, maybe even refill your water bottle so you re hydrated too! After work: Dance to music while cooking dinner, take an after dinner walk and watch the sun set in a local park, every commercial break during your favorite TV show do one of the exercises on the following page, spend 10 minutes stretching before bed My Daily Physical Activity Plan Every day I can increase my physical activity by: Morning Mid-Day Evening 4
