Situation Caberfeidh is set in a peaceful countryside location about 11/2 miles south of the popular village of Auldearn. The country lane rises slowly as it heads inland into the gentle hills beyond and Caberfeidh lies just before the crest with magnificent views back over the Moray Firth. The climate is surprisingly dry and sunny which makes the miles of sandy beaches even more of a pleasure. The harbour is home to a small fishing fleet, marina and sailing club. It has excellent restaurants, museums, galleries and antique shops as well as sports centre, swimming pool, riding centre and even a cricket pitch. But Nairn is most famous as a centre of golfing excellence with two 18 hole championship courses in the Nairn Golf Club and Nairn Dunbar Golf Club which between them have hosted the Walker Cup, both the Scottish Ladies and Men s Professional and Amateur Championships and the Northern Open. This reputation has been further advanced by the recent completion (2008) of the Castle Stuart Golf Links which in 2011 will host the Scottish Open Golf Championship. Everything you will need locally is available in Auldearn from a pint of milk to a pint of beer. Caberfeidh This distinctive house was completed in 1999 to the design of a local architect, Martin Archibald, and constructed by Elgin Builders.
